No, you can't. You can only put preset music from MM into your levels. Welcome to the forums by the way | 2009-01-05 12:58:00 Author: Unknown User |
I confirm... Certainly something about copyrights... | 2009-01-05 13:19:00 Author: Takelow Posts: 1355 |
I confirm... Certainly something about copyrights... Mm, it might not be. Considering you can upload a song on to youtube without any risk of copyright infringement, I don't think that's the case. It's probably more to do with bad language. "Mummy, come and watch me play LBP!" "Alright honey" *Eminem music starts playing* "Mummmmmyyy!" | 2009-01-05 13:52:00 Author: Unknown User |
It's probably more to do with bad language. I'll have to agree... I was hoping you would be able to with the computer version if there is going to be one, but I'll doubt it. Just look at the chat filter lol. | 2009-01-05 14:05:00 Author: Doctor Ramatool Posts: 189 |
I think it's more to do with loading times and the thermometer. See, when you use a song, it probably just takes it from the PS3. So, the song is streamed from the PS3. Thus, basically all the game would have to do when loading it is say "Song 2 = ON " or something similar. ... Do you have any idea how much more complicated having the game stream all of the music out from something else? The game essientally just picks out a particular material from what's being used in the level, and says to use that material though. How much harder would it be to recreate a SONG?! ... Didn't make sense, I know :/. But yeah, thermometer/loading issues, THAT'S for sure. | 2009-01-05 14:07:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
Yes Rocksauron, it make sense... | 2009-01-05 14:47:00 Author: Takelow Posts: 1355 |
I wish you could listen to your own music while playing. Much like you can on Xbox 360 games. Create mode is boring when there's no background sound. | 2009-01-05 21:44:00 Author: alexbull_uk Posts: 1287 |

DO IT, this game is very good, and highly ranked among the top all time greats. Cheers! EDIT: oh and no sorry, you can not listen to your music while playing the game, they have been trying to implement that in games, with firmware, and stuff. Didn't make sense, I know :/. But yeah, thermometer/loading issues, THAT'S for sure. I think Rock is right here. Considering and MP3 can take 3-5mb, which can be larger than the entire save file for LBP, I think it would be unrealistic to ask it to stream a random song someone has put in. It would cause far too much lag. It also has issues to do with censorship of bad language. Some "music" can be very offensive indeed. Finally, copyright rights for music is different in each country. In the US, for example, it's legal to have a copy of music you have purchased on say, a CD, converted into MP3 format and put on an MP3 music player like the iPod. In Australia that use to be illegal, even if you owned the orginial CD and the MP3 was for your own personal use. It was because the laws were old. I think the laws have been updated, and no one was really prosecuted for personal use, but it was technically a punishable offence which carried a fine and possibly a jail sentence, off memory. I think the laws have been updated, but I'm not 100% sure, and other countries might have similar problems. | 2009-01-06 11:30:00 Author: Elbee23 Posts: 1280 |
putting in ingame music is easy according to the makers of warhawk, they even put new game modes in a update | 2009-01-06 18:09:00 Author: panzer3000 Posts: 362 |
You can use the sounds you are given to try to create what you want. People have put some songs in there, so always worth a try. | 2009-01-06 18:24:00 Author: Darth_Spartan Posts: 813 |
