It is more of a thing to just celebrate gamers in general. Picking Gamer of The Week is just a fun thing where one person each week is featured on the site and they get some perks, like choosing the game we play that Saturday during our livestream. Then they also get a chance to be Gamer of The Month, where they win a $20 PSN card. Is it bad that we are doing something fun for the community and our listeners? We don't choose the weekly winner based on trophy number or anything. Everyone that enters will eventually win, as we store each entry for later weeks. Some people have fun gaming stories they like to share, while others want to share stats, like trophy number. Other think being a gamer is the amount of stuff they have purchased, so some discuss that. Either way, it is a fun idea we had and people seem to enjoy it and they have a chance to win free stuff, so why the heck not.
