Welcome everyone to the latest Episode of the Spotlight which contains only the very finest levels, plucked fresh from the showcase and brought to you by the doughty Spotlight Crew who braved serial impaling, tricky traps and a deadly virus on your behalf. There?s something for everyone: from platforming and pinball to an engaging movie, an awesome evocation of a nightmare gripped city and not forgetting a couple of epic arcade style shooters. We even have the most welcome return of the PSP Spotlight. So forget the sunshine, abandon the BBQ and get these levels queued!

On a sadder note we?d like to say a temporary farewell to OneEyedBanshee who?s taking a well earned break from spotlighting to devote more time to other projects. We wish him all the best with those and thank him for his tireless work and for generally keeping us all on the straight and narrow with his good sense and his ever critical eye for a good level. He?ll be much missed but has promised to return in a few months, a promise we are going to hold him to...any suggestions of something dear to him which we could hold hostage in the meantime gratefully received.

As ever our hub will go live sometime tomorrow provided we remember to ply Hubbie (http://lbp.me/u/LBPCentralHub)with enough cookies beforehand.

http://id.lbp.me/img/bl/06d4187e67f0e0d428d6089a9a355d2c2e464daa.pngThink Before You Jump!FULLGORR Welcome! Every time you jump, some platforms move, make sure to think before you jump! This level is very hard! 1 Player only (Compatible with 4) Good luck.

Fullgorr delivers a unique take on platforming in this one. Control almost every platform with the press of a button. Sounds simple right? Wrong, the button also happens to be the one you jump with. So you better plan out your trajectory before you move the floor beneath you or you'll likely meet a spikey end. I don't know if I've ever seen the basic game concept of jumping taken to this extreme before. This level will quite literally flip your lit and as the title says, it will make you Think before you jump. I didn't heed this warning at first and thought I'd just run willy nilly through the level. Pah! Nope. You see, each time you jump, a gameplay element changes. It could be something simple as a platform turning over to reveal spikes to a several platforms flipping over and bounce pads activating all at once. Trust me, you better take your time. The level is quite clever and a blast to play and as a topper, it looks great too! Don't hesitate to "jump" into this level.Fullgorr once again gives the community a level that stands out due to it's gameplay excellence, visual attractiveness, and simple but effective mechanics. Jumping causes the platforms in the level to shift in various ways, therefore, simple platforming becomes a lot harder to execute, and in turn provides a fun, satisfying level experience for all to enjoy. Check this one out if you want something tricky and fun.

http://i0.lbp.me/img/bl/8a05de56217c6fb60b7943fbeb7f403b43a46631.pngLOTSO Spikes (Platformer)WESFUN Come to the one and only LOTSO spikes (Platformer). Enjoy the gamplay as it has LOTSO spikes. Enter now and by the end you sure are gonna say "WOW thats a LOTSO spikes". Made By WESFUN and a_robot_dlo__olb. Music by, 0165_Vivaldi-NL

This level sounds dangerous! It is. If you're not careful that is. I'm Not saying you want get impaled a time or two, because, most likely, you will indeed. This level is wrought with cleverness bundled inside a great design that flows well from start to scoreboard. I loved all the unique and sometimes brutal contraptions Wesfun created for me to play with. I loved dodging spike traps at every turn and I loved the way he incorporated the Attracto technology into this level. Don't take it from me, queue this level and see for yourself. The clue is in the name, lol. Well, we can?t say we weren?t warned. There are indeed a good few spikes dotted around to catch out unwary Sacks but you?ll have great fun trying to avoid them in this clever and well paced platformer. Anyone thinking that LOTSO spikes must be monotonous is in for a pleasant surprise. The gameplay is varied with plenty of original obstacles and ideas to keep it fresh and there?s some brilliant and exhilarating use of Attracto gel to pull and sweep you through chunks of the level. The gameplay comes packaged with some wonderful music and attractive visuals in which a warm darkness is punctuated (spiked?) with dashes of vivid glowing light. So slap on some extra padding and brave the spikes, you certainly won?t regret it!The title says it all! This level is filled with devilish spikes and hazards that must be avoided through the use of some great platforming. Visuals were great and the ambient lighting only added to the atmosphere. Players who want a stronger challenge can also activate the race mode, which adds to the difficulty, but in turn provides a score boost for the more adventurous happy gadders. Give this one a try if you want some great, fast paced platforming action!

http://ic.lbp.me/img/bl/54c587badc0889e9ac87d5e0f39233acdb3c69f9.pngSPLATR pate59 Lots of points, enemies, powerups and waves. This is a twin stick shooter for 1-4 players. 20 waves to complete or just survive as long as you can. Each wave is 30sec long. Wave gets extended if you don't shoot the enemies. Shoot the enemies, collect points, gun upgrades, powerups & also health to make it little bit easier. Once again level title means absolutely nothing. Thank you BREEZY-THE-PRO for making custom music for SPLATR, and thanks to many of my friends for testing.

Splatr is very similar to a polluted beach. Wave upon wave of pew pew. Unlike a polluted beach you will be more than happy to dive into this. Wow - thats a bad opening line... but give me a break. I had to stop playing to write this, and it's so addictive. So... ah... twin stick... multiplayer... guns... weapon upgrades... points and a leader board that I am not nearly high enough on. Oh it's loaded again. I'll get back to you. This is one very impressive twin stick shooter - it just oozes cool with its colourful, slick design and great music. The controls are simple and intuitive but don't be fooled, the gameplay has great depth and variety what with 20 different waves (if you can survive that long!), numerous different types of enemy to battle and loads of power ups to bag. Above all though, it's just tremendous fun to play and will have you coming back time and again to improve your score!

http://i5.lbp.me/img/bl/0f5e41d3f862b9b8b60ff310f5d8a4ff10a37828.pngExtrem e Full-Auto Pinball (Over Loaded) 1P Only!ThirdAxis01 Welcome to Full-Auto Pinball! Single player only. Real simulator, works best on a freshly re-started PS3. Go for first place and your name and score will be posted on the table. Triangle is Music, L1-R1 Flippers, L2-R2--Tilt, And hold X to end game. Special thanks to--NOTASHEEPLE, Stoorm-88-Trooper and Links_r_us for all the help and great idea's. Thanks guys!

I'm a sucker for pinball levels. I'm always checking LBP.me for new ones, so I was thrilled to see this posted in the level showcase. There is so much going on with this table that it'll take several play throughs to see everything. I played numerous times and still don't think I've unlocked all the secrets. Be thrilled and amazed as you shoot your ball and watch it disappear on one side and fly out the other, leaving a healthy dose of points in its wake. Plenty of lights, colors and sounds to keep your senses alert.are you ready for some pinball!? No? Oh... well, don't play this level because its as pinball-ey as pinball can get. And then some. A very creative and fun to play table with some great multi ball and other bonus round stuff. I'd tell you more, but as you mentioned you weren't ready for pinball. So go and queue this and you better be ready by the time it loads.

http://i0.lbp.me/img/bl/96043e5ad7723e768d4cfff1fea64deaf8d179c7.pngLost heart of Azuramcdonald1967 You head on a platforming journey to find lost heart of Azura. It's somewhere in the arabian temple. Who else better to find it than you!

Venture into this Temple in search of the "Heart" of Azure and along the way, witness some fantastically unique contraptions on display. McDonald never ceases to amaze me with his new contraptions that convey me from side of the level to the other. Always clever and unique and always fun, sometimes challenging, but always fun. Get ready for some fun platforming when you queue up Lost Heart of Azure.Simple yet elegant, fast and fun, these are the words that describe the utter treat Mcdonald1967 has whipped up for us. Greeted by a somewhat shady traveller, you are tasked with finding the "Lost heart of Azura"; a rare artifact that is worth a fortune. The task at hand is daunting! However, all the fantastic gameplay crammed into every nook and cranny of this level makes the quest a ton of fun. This is deffineatly a level you do NOT want to miss.

http://i1.lbp.me/img/bl/761aeae9b53aff2425e602542557e32d565d56bb.pngMegach imia (platformer)Khodex This is my second LBP2 platformer level. In this level, you will be in a sort of laboratory and you will have to try some experiments. But this place is protected by a giant monster which is the result of a dark experiment. So, be careful ! There are 2 musics created by me in this level : the platform music and the boss music.

Megachimia drops you off in a strange laboratory. The place is littered with test tubes and the chemicals within each have unique properties. When poured upon the blank surfaces throughout the level, new ways of traversing the lab shall be unlocked. Not all the chemicals are useful though, some are lethal so watch out. All in all a fun platformer with a deadly boss at the end.Get ready for a trip through a wacky laboratory filled with unique obstacles and challenges at every turn. This level just up jumped and bit me because I had not inkling that it was going to be this good. The gameplay consist of several fresh and imaginative ideas such as certain colored chemicals react in different ways to the environment. Then there is the added feature that mixing certain chemicals, forms a whole new idea! This is a really fun level that should keep you smiling the entire time and don't worry, you needn't be a chemical engineer to pass this level! The fun just doesn't stop coming in this spotlight, does it? This unique platformer has you mixing and matching various mysterious liquids in order to change the regular (Quite boring, in fact!) properties of the materials to anything from floaty to slippery! The boss at the end of this level will test your knowledge on the concoctions you've learned throughout the level! Add some spice to your Queue and try it out!

http://i6.lbp.me/img/bl/0a6be8a1e1f8271122cd164f05fa778ef667bd88.pngThe Machiniac: Hargrave AsylumBlanchrocker Chapter 2, Part 1. Now that The Machiniac has finally completed his Sackbot army, its time to conquer Steam City, but.....it seems that there is something not quite right with his new-found army. If only there was someone who could help. 1 player recommended. Enjoy.

The Machiniac: Hargrave Asylum brings a cinematic experience of the highest level. It wets our appetites for what's going to happen next and with a promise of more to come in the future this series is well worth checking out. The voice work and characters mesh really well together and give a real sense of malevolence and discord but with a dollop of comedy. Pulling off a good movie level is much harder than it might appear but Blanchrocker is proving to be a master of the art. He has a real talent for telling a gripping story laced with dry humour that leaves you wanting more. It's a combination of a good script, great voice work and the ability to create compelling characters. Despite all their faults you can?t help liking both the downtrodden Peabody and even His Excellence-ness, with all his deviousness and megalomania. You want to know their fates and you certainly want to know more of the mysterious and sinister Hargrave Asylum. Anyone not already familiar with this series should certainly check out both Part 1 and this latest episode in the darkly humorous tale ? it's superbly entertaining stuff.Normally I don't like to watch movie levels on LBP, but this one is deffineatly an exception! Magnificent, humorous, yet dark storytelling, whimsical, eerie visuals, and probably some of the highest quality voice acting I've ever had the pleasure to hear. It's an experience EVERYONE should should have if they want to see what a true LBP cinematic masterpiece is. Directors keep your eyes peeled! This is how you make a movie!

http://i0.lbp.me/img/bl/880bf57bb27e042519fdcdc26999ee5ea6b5a1c9.pngBearry Button's Mansion: higher and higher (part 2)Z1091990 : : : 1-2 PLAYER ONLY : : : READ DESCRIPTION : : : : DIFFICULT : MEDIUM : bearry button got maybe the biggest collection of buttons in whole craftworld but he lost his favourite button can you help him to get it back?you can collect some purple/secret buttons for more points (each button 500/1000 points) so far have fun

What's this? The story is not over? Oh no it's not! In this part we discover that Mr. Bearry's button was not lost after all, but stolen! Make your way through this marvelous mansion in search of this allusive thief. But beware super sleuths, for our journey is wrought with peril as your traverse cleverly designed obstacles and more wonderful contraptions. Suit up! It's time to catch us a button thief!Wow those trolls really are getting out of hand when they?ll stoop to stealing buttons! Part 1 of this series was good but with Part 2 Z1091990 ramps everything up a notch. The charming sewing box style visuals have been intensified and given a mysterious blue and purple night time twist. The plot thickens as new characters join the story and a dash of humour is added. The gameplay is varied and inventive and the difficulty is pitched beautifully with plenty to challenge but nothing to frustrate the player. And it's all topped off with some cool custom music. Beautiful to look at and fun to play, this series just gets better and better, so jump on in and help poor Bearry track down his stolen button! The story of Beary and his wonderful collection of buttons finally continues! Unlike the first level in the series, this one is a lot darker, and has more of a creepy atmosphere, although that doesn't make the gameplay scary! In fact, the gameplay is quite amazing! Sliding, jumping, bouncing, and throwing obstacles are abundant in this wonderful obstacle course Beary calls his closet, and it's all wonderfully sewn together with great pace and visual prowess. Continue the tale and find that button thief! Bearys counting on you!

http://i4.lbp.me/img/bl/904eb631abd45441575df1a1e49b9612b18adea7.pngMystic al ManorMissi_Cat A magical journey awaits you both inside and outside of Mystical Manor with serene scenery and easy uplifting gameplay. Amazing music created by HaloNova. Supports multi-player but best experienced in single player. P.S. ~ If you find my lost pink kitty please be sure to pet her and give her some love! =)

I almost felt like I had tumbled down the rabbit hole or entered some sort of dream state upon entering this level. What a "funtabulous" abstract design this is. Vivid colors and surreal structures await you in this very pleasing to the eyes environment, all set to a great musical score. As I was platforming my way across cool contraptions and gameplay mechanics, I kept an ever diligent eye out for that table with the "eat me" "drink me" notes on it. Alas, I did not see it. I'm kind of glad too, as I really didn't want to see that Cheshire cat this morning! Queue this level and get ready for a great unforgettable level...smiles included!Mystical manor certainly lives up to its name. It's a magical place full of weird and wonderful effects and gorgeous colours. The trees are rainbow coloured filigree, the cat is pink and lightning strikes as you jump from platform to platform. The eerie and beautiful music adds to the otherworldly atmosphere and helps make your journey through this very stylish level an experience to remember.

http://i7.lbp.me/img/bl/2f7df3f4c370a006beee8150e25aeade341b2042.pngSTRIKE R WINGS ( Side scroller Space shooter ) 1P ONLYHeadman-1000 STRIKER WINGS ( 1p ONLY ). Side scrolling bullet hell shooter. to avoid lag. Created by Headman-1000 and LoVeRiCe. Music by Headman-1000. Final boss song by Mastablastya. Game created in two and a half weeks.

Wow! Get ready for some extreme Pew Pew Pew action with this side scrolling shooter from Headman. Geez, the screen is a nonstop hailstorm of bullets from beginning to end as enemies are dead set on destroying your little ship. Speaking of your ship, Whoa! With upgrades plentiful, you'll be showering the enemy with your own arsenal and blasting them from the skies in no times. All of this actions takes place alongside splendid scenery, just try not to get distracted lest the enemies dispenses of you. Excellent level that will thrill you in every way. Ok Lass, I think I got my quota of "whoa's" and "Wow's" in. Another hellish storm of projectiles unleashed at an unsuspecting community! A headline to cause fear unless it's Headman's new level you are speaking about. Power-ups-a-plenty litter this side scrolling shooter, and you better grab 'em all if you can, having your arsenal grow with each pick up to become a devastation torrent of power is rather relaxing

http://ie.lbp.me/img/bl/e0efae10ee20f4fc8400920a746c246fd6b419e2.png"City of the Fallen" 1ANightmares awaken) horror virus scarySURESHOT918 //SINGLE PLAYER// By: SURESHOT918, whoisthis2, and ROFLCOPTER_lol. The year is 2037. Play as Profit in the utopian city of Surmatopia. Profit is a test subject for SAEF (Surmatopia Augmentation Enhancement Facilities). SAEF owns all of the city. The city is a sack-made island that floats over the ocean like a ship. If the power core that powers the foundation support were to break, the city will collapse and sink. That must not happen!

Ok, I may have fibbed. I'll have to add a few more Wow's and Whoa's in this one because WOW, Whoa, the details in this level are jaw dropping, drool inducing, amazing. It took me a long while to play this level because quite a few times I just stopped and gawked at my surrounds or moved really slow so that I could take everything in. I'm a sucker for details and am often blown away by what the creator is able to accomplish or has the foresight to include. Visuals aside, this is an amazing story that you really must check out. Excellent voice acting, excellent mood and atmosphere...excellent level. Play it! Wow. This was just insane! The crazy creepy story and the outrageously beautiful, hectic visuals. As Biorogue has mentioned, I was literally blown away at the utter sight of this piece of eye candy. Be sure to walk slowly or you might miss out on some fantastic visuals! But the visuals aren't everything! The storyline is fantastic and mysterious, and it's portrayed beautifully through this art canvas of a level! If you don't play this your missing out!

I'm sort of running out of good things to say about WoodburyRaider's WWIII series. It's about WWIII, it's by WoodburyRaider, and it's awesome. If you haven't already, do yourself a favor and play through all the levels in the series, including this fantastic installment.WoodburyRaider is a talented guy. His designs are always spot on, and this level showcases his one of a kind flawless style in spades. High speed car chases and bubble combos are always a nice combination, and the fluid gameplay will have you playing this over and over again.Usually I'd rave about all the great things in this level, from the storyline to the beautiful scenery to the gameplay, but we've heard all that before about Woodbury, so instead I'll say what this level doesn't have. There's not a bug in sight, and you'll never find an unoriginal piece of gameplay. To cap it all off, this level doesn't has enough plays!! So do your part spotlight readers and play this level that has it all!
Kerchu Guardian Boss Battle (Parts 1-2)M Wallace/tojokilla25http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff393/valmassoilbpc/PSP%20Episode%2086/IMG_6726.jpgRatchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. The boss battle in Kerchu City against the Kerchu Guardian.

The Ratchet & Clank franchise has always been one of my favorites. From Tools of Destruction to All 4 One, I've loved these games. I was pleasantly surprised to see M Wallace recreate a boss from Tools of Destruction, and how well he did it. Split into two parts, this recreation of the Kerchu Guardian is nothing short of marvelous. Even if you aren't a fan of Ratchet & Clank, these levels truly deserve your attention.Boss fights are not easy to create, and with psp's limited toolset, it makes it even more difficult. But don't tell that to tojokilla25. Two levels are spotlighted here so be sure and grab them both and play in order. In the prelude, put on your grinding shoes, and be prepared to have your tail end bombarded as you slide over and around hazards. The second level has you throwing down with the Kerchu Guardian, and it is as fun to play as it is amazing to look at. Boss battles are hard enough to create with a full creator on the PS3, but they're nigh on impossible with the psp and the hopes of hundreds of Ractchet and Clank Fans that it lives up to the original. Yet somehow, against all odds, you'll find yourself loving this level and marvelling at how beautifully crafted it is. And the killer blow? You get not one, but two levels of this brilliance
Pirates of the Seven Seas Part IIschark1994/schark5000http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff393/valmassoilbpc/PSP%20Episode%2086/IMG_6727.jpgPart II of the "Pirates of the Seven Seas."

Well, shiver me timbers!! Schark takes us back to his pirate cove one more time with a brilliant level that floored me when I played it. Gorgeous tropical locals, and gameplay that is tight as a snare drum. With under water sequences, and hidden areas galore, you will forever keep this in your psp, and for good reason.Arr, there be a killar level on th' horizon!! If pirate talk and engaging gameplay is your idea of fun, then you'll have a whale of a time (no pun intended) sailing around with this level. Schark has created an immersive tropical world that'll have you begging for more!

I'm struggling to remember a time when there was no VelcroJonze, a world where platforming was slow and arduous. However don't worry about that, because there's plenty of Velcro to go around - and here's another absolute classic! You know what to expect, fast paced platforming, bubble combos to make your eyes spin and all wrapped up in a cleverly designed package. If you haven't played it already (and if not then where have you been? It's VelcroJonze!!!) then go download it now!

A word that describes this level? Incredible. doggy97 has created a cold, dreary world that not only evokes the devastation of war, but also leaves you more than satisfied.Doggy97 has become one of my go to creators for pure platforming goodness. Simply put, his levels are pure fun. I have a soft spot for great platforming levels, and this one is a gem. Who says lbp psp is finished? Not me, and definitely not doggy97.An absolute monster psp spotlight comes to an end, and this is certainly a stylish and fitting way to finish. Doggy has really smashed this one out of the park so it's no surprise my fellow spotlighters are loving this level. You'll enjoy the gameplay the most here, and often you'll be thinking 'wow, why didn't I think of that! It's so clever'. Here's to many more levels like this!

Also from the Showcase...
Played everything in the PSP Spotlight and still looking for more?
This level stood out from the crowd for a variety of reasons, so be sure to check it out!

Are you in shape? If not, Pulparindo15's Little Big Free Runners (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=70510-Little-Big-Free-Runners) will have you out of breath.

You know it's a good day when you wake up with five fingers on each hand. You know it's an even better day when you have five spotlighted levels on PSP in the palm of your hand.

Let's hope this trend continues for many weeks to come.

Another great lineup of spotlighted levels. Headman-1000, Z1091990, Blanchrocker, and Khodex deserved it. Looking forward to check out the ones I haven't played yet.2012-05-28 04:30:00
