So im curious as to what everyones favorite Major boss battles are. It doesnt matter what game, list multiples if you must. I cant remember every game I've played, so I could be wrong about this being my favorite boss battle. KH1 Sephiroth is my favorite. And no, I'm not kidding. Yeah, it was a lot more of a challenge in that game, since Sora in Kingdom Hearts 2 was given steroids. XD Plus, the reaction commands made things way too easy. I still can't get over the fact that a member of NSync does his voice. O__o They should've played an NSync song during the fight! XD LOL

I also like how if you stay in one spot for aaages, he can sneak up on you! And take you back a few areas to a prison cell.

The end boss of Sonic 3 & Knuckles. The proper end boss when you've got Hyper Sonic and you're fighting him in space. Pure awesomeness to the 8 year old me. Second place goes to Shredder in the Turtledrome in TMNT the arcade game.

I think FF7 ending is the best, also Mario 3 boss battles were great, Mario 64 bosses, Metal Gear series has good ones. Also the Metal Gear series LBP pack boss battle was amazing.

For me the best boss battles have to be the ones from the MGS series. Both for the gameplay and the cut-scenes following the battles... the series has always made you almost sorry for killing the bosses. MGS1 - Sniper Wolf (2nd battle)... more for the following cut-scene than the battle itself. Psycho Mantis... psychokinesis and "mind-reading"... awesome! Following cut-scene was great too. Gray Fox... great hand to hand combat and back-story. MGS3 - The Fear... the "secret" way of beating him is awesome . The Sorrow... the most surreal gameplay I've ever experienced. Bringing back everyone you killed during the game... just amazing! The Fury... the voice actor did a great job with the Fury. The battle itself was good but the straightforward corridors made the battle feel a little predictable. However, the following cut-scene is one of the best boss endings I have ever seen! The End... best sniper battle in gaming history. The Boss... the best boss I've ever experienced... the hand-to-hand combat, the setting, the backstory and that one final bullet... just plain epic! MGS4 - All of them were very good but my favourites were Octopus, Wolf and Mantis. Though I felt that since they weren't really in the game before you fight them and you don't find out anything substantial about their individual backstories until after you beat them makes them a bit less epic than previous games. I felt that other games in the series set-up the boss battles much better. Still, gameplay-wise they were excellent. EDIT: Forgot about the other MGS4 battles, such as the battle of the Metal Gears and Snake vs. Liquid Ocelot. I loved the way they made the Metal Gears move so freely even though they were huge. And in the final battle the way the music changed as Ocelot changed personas and fighting styles was amazing! As the final battle of Solid Snake though, I felt it was a bit on the easy side. Other great boss battles include Shadow of the Colossus. My favourites are probably the small one you make run into things to stun it, the one with the huge "sword" and both flying ones... actually they are all great in their own way but those are my favourites. I love the BIG boss battles in God of War, the Hydra and Minotaur in 1 and the Colossus and Kraken in 2... I just hope there are more than two of them in God of War 3 instead of having smaller boss battles. RE4 had some great battles too. And Prince of Persia: Warrior Within and The Two Thrones.

Metal Gear Solid 4. Snake Vs. Liquid Ocelot. I loved every single second if it. The simple brilliance of the changing of music and health bar made it all the more amazing. To show that everything was coming together, all loose ends tied up and that the end of Snake's lifelong mission was going to end right on that very spot. All actions and events leading to that point. Also the fight between the Metal Gears was brilliant. But for completely different reasons.

The final Colossus from Shadow of the Colossus. I really loved that battle, from the way you had to manipulate his movements to get to the weak spots, and the adrenaline you feel while fighting it. I had to try a dozen times to beat him, but in the end, it was worth it. I won't give any spoilers as to the end of SoC, but twas epic.

I really can't think of any right now, you guys said most of the games I cherish a lot. MGS series (They all had awesomeness boss fights), Shadow of the Collosus, God of War, Megaman...Even Kingdom Hearts. (Sephiroth in KH1 was indeed a pain lol). So I'll be original here. The last boss in Final Fantasy VI. (The very last boss, since it's several parts). For several reasons. One of them being that the music was amazing, and the battle was very hard if your characters weren't leveled up enough, and even if they were, it can be moderately hard. Good times <_< And I was 10 or 11 years old when I finished the game.

Well you can kind of hear the grass rustling as he gets near, once I turned around and knocked him to the ground. "Fight like a man!" And I just kept chasing him, knocking him down, and blasting at him with the M16. (He uses flash grenades so it makes it a little difficult)... That really is such an epic fight, so many ways it can end. Kojima is brilliant. Hmm.. Super Mario world? lol Remember how after you beat a Koopa kid there'd be a little scene with mario getting rid of his castle? Sometimes it was really cute. This is harder to think of than I thought... How about the last boss battle in Conker's bad fur day and the way the game ended? Heh. Sonic bosses were pretty awesome, I also loved the final boss with hyper sonic in Sonic & Knuckles.
