Only if I put this song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-dn_5IteRU) to play while I'm at it.2012-05-23 01:42:00

It's tough creating alone. It's harder coming up with ideas, you don't feel as compelled to work, and plus it's really, really boring.2012-05-23 02:22:00

It's just the opposite for me.

I love working alone and consider other people to be an unwelcome intrusion in create mode.

:'(

As for me I tend to create better when there's someone else there to fill the gap in my creative train, then I can return the favour.

Agreed.

When someone else is there with you, you can't really just sit there staring at the screen pondering your next move, you friend(s) would just get bored.

I second the above, but not completely. I like if someone's there, but if that someone is impatient, or they constantly edit stuff that I don't like, it bugs me. If someone joins me while I'm creating, I'm just worried if they get bored of me creating. Cause I love creating. And it takes serious time. I'm also really indecisive, so I'll change crud around all the time, or even start all over.
To answer your question, YES. I do get that bitter feeling in my tummy or head when I keep at something. It usually happens when I want to stop building, but I really want to publish, and the feelings have a conflict. Or simply when I've been playing games too long or been sitting too long and need to get outside and take a break, which is always good.

I avoid visitors at all costs. I don't consider art a very sociable hobby tbh, I'd much rather be left alone with my thoughts and some tunes. In fact I'd sooner quit the game and have a chat than try and be creative with someone yapping in my ear.2012-05-23 12:19:00

Playing with a friend is create mode is only fun for me when there' no goal to work towards, when you're all just messing around and creating mad, funny **** off the top of your heads. Basically treating create mode like a playground instead of a workshop.2012-05-23 12:29:00

Not really, I clock up hours of working solo, like loads of others.

Although, personally, I'm always happy to let people in and either have a conversation with them, or let them suggest anything for the level while their around. I guess my only rule is don't go adding things which clearly don't fit the level, and don't think that just because you joined, I'm going to drop everything and go play some levels. If I was in create mode when you joined, I'll be in create mode when you leave. (Unless I coincidently get bored.)
I wouldn't say my progress on my level differs whether someone else is there or not.

I've found myself with a headache occasionally if I'm trying to get something complicated to work, but I think that's more a result of prolonged hard thinking than just a result of doing it solo.

I am used to creating alone because of my PSP, and I seldom create levels with others, when my friends join me, there's 90% chance we end up fighting eachother with crazy vehicles. 2012-05-23 12:52:00

They seem to become ill and die from the illness in a matter of seconds if you place them in water.2012-05-23 14:38:00

I usually create alone...All the levels I published were solitary efforts made by me and me only-including my calculator (and no, the creator's toolkit does not count as somebody creating with me). Usually, when I invite friends, they just spam create mode with random objects that get in the way. I don't want to sound like a pretentious encul* here, but I am better at creating than most of my friends. As a result, I am perfectly willing to help other people with their creations and levels (usually they ask me to), but if they make one edit to any of mine, I WILL FLIP OUT AND REWIND INTO OBLIVION. Movies are delicate, dig?

On an on-topic note, I have never suffered from this sickness. I once created for about 7 hours straight (the longest I've ever created in one sitting-and I know it sucks compared to some of the times you have) and I felt nothing.

Which brings up another thought.... did you ever get that swimming contraption to work?

On my own, I find the process of thinking up the premise of a level is rather difficult. But when I have the initial idea, thou shalt not abide in my quarters. Quarters of gaming.2012-05-23 16:04:00

Come to think of it, that seems to just be eye-strain and hunger cramps

I have a small list of friends, so I wouldn't have to worry about having someone I don't trust come in and spam objects or such. I've got an even smaller group of good friends who I'm usually in create with, one of us tends to make a tune or object while the other one works on something else. Or we end up taking out random machines and trying to blow up the other one's. I don't even try to make proper levels anymore since I always lose inspiration mid-way, but if I'm ever working on something important there are only three people I'd let in while doing so. Though usually we end up floating in create mode just chatting and messing about.2012-05-23 18:21:00
