Great news, Poo!

Will be glad to hear new episode of your podcast! I have nostalgia over LBP1 levels too, so it must be interesting for me!

lol! it's the xkappax show!!! loved her. where can i see those comics of hers?

loved the show in general, but i do have to be honest and say that perhaps it could have been a little shorter. no disrespect. either that or you need to introduce more sections to cut out some of the pointless chatter (not that pointless chatter is wrong. i love it most of the time but i did get the sense in this podcast that it went on a little too long)

topics could be the wrong approach actually. maybe a script of some sort. that may lead to a less than spontaneous podcast though, so if it is worth considering, i would make the script just a pointer rather than a list of subjects you want to discuss. for instance, if you have... MM picks on that list, you could then right single words on that script that would help focus you when discussing it. that should help cut down on 'grasping' for further things to say.

@Domik: Also, we have Alex on there, so he talks about PSP levels a bit in the nostalgic section, though it's pretty much talking about one of Tom's levels and one of my level. Hope you enjoy it :-)

@GribbleGrunger: xkappa was an excellent guest! The Wish Fulfillment (http://www.wishfulfillment.kappacino.com/) link is where her art can be found. Perhaps I will move that up the list a bit :-)

Glad that you posted again or I wouldn't have notice your edited original post :-)

Thanks for the feedback. We did tend to go off-topic a bit more this episode (and by a bit, I mean a lot). Tom had a lot more editing to do because of it so I'm sure that he would prefer to keep the podcast a bit more on topic as well, though we will always go on tangents I'm sure

don't get me wrong, i like the tangents, it's just that there were a few more cul-de-sacs than usual

edit: i've just taken a look at her site properly! is that really all her work? absolutely stunning and such a professional set up. there are even T-Shirts!! God, i wish i had that level of talent

Thanks for the kind words, gribblegrunger! I said this to you before via email, but it means a lot to me. I, like most artists, have very little self esteem. It always feels good when someone sees your work and says 'hey, this doesn't suck!" So thank you, sincerely.

I hope you guys like the podcast. I had a really great time recording it with those guys and it was an honor to be allowed to be a part of it.

Hey, this don't suck! LOL, I've already told you that before and that I love your artwork. Tis a shame someone had to mess up the Ice Ice Baby chain. I thought we were going to finish it there for a little bit. Oh well.

I enjoyed the episode. All the talk about old levels makes me want to track down a level where you jump into a rocket wheelchair and go up a wall to "heaven". Funniest level ever. I just can't remember the name.2012-05-23 20:07:00

So xkappax was a great guest, full of energy and a strong and deep knowledge of the LBP ?scene?. I liked the discussion of old LBP levels and the different creators that were around. It is fun to hear someone who is having a good time and has the verbal proficiency to keep up with the Taffey. (No offense intended AFP, it just seems that Tom can really crank up the chatter energy meter while you seem more level, discussion oriented.)

I've always liked the artwork that xkappax has done though I've by no means seen it all. I've been reading her posts and comments in at LBPCentral for long enough just by doing normal formal lurking that it is great to get the voice and the personality behind the posts and comments.

-----

I think that this podcast worked out well with four speaking parts in the same way that the last one worked out as well. xkappax got plenty of airtime to herself and there was never a battle of speaking voices.

My apprehension is if you had two outgoing verbal speakers going at the same time as the two of you it would take away from the one-on-one-on-one time with the main guest. Actually getting two funny, outgoing guests who end up being the main part of the show may actually not be that bad either compared to the alternative.

-----

I like the idea that someone suggested last week or so where you have two guest-hosts who take over your roles and then the two of you are the guests. Let?s get someone interviewing the two of you for a change. Though with all the talking that you?ve done over the course of the PMP run people should have already gotten a fairly good idea of your levels, the tribulations of the PSP era, the origin stories and so on so I?m not too sure what the interviews would be about.

I also think that PMP is slowly meme-ifying itself. With each new guest you bring in there the list of running gags and pseudo-memes being created is growing. The only question is about which ones end up living and which do not. In the world of podcasts you either die the hero or podcast long enough to become. . . wait, where was I going with this one?

-----

As to which game I?d go for, Diablo 3 or Max Payne 3 I?d need to go with Max Payne 3. The reviews on both have been good enough that I?ll play through both of them and I really like D1, D2, MP1 and MP2 but at the moment I?m looking for a game I can finish in 6 ? 13 hours rather than one I?ll sink >25 hours into. It is just about the commitment is all.

I?ll also pick the tattoo option over the perma-pee smell. This is another easy question as I don't think a tattoo saying ?I love Cats? is particularly outrageous or shocking and depending on your social life and/or wardrobe would be completely unnoticeable.

But cat pee on the other hand doesn?t care about what you wear or where you go. It is. It emanates. And it stinks.

-----

Actually as I think about this later on I?m not sure if you mentioned Mnniska in the podcast or not. I certainly do not remember it coming up, if so then you need to change the streak back down to zero and start again in the next expisode.

I don't think I mentioned it earlier but the podcast was a lot of fun to listen to. I agree with GribbleGrunger on LBPCentral that the amount of tangents was a lot higher in this episode. That by itself isn?t too bad but the tangents had tangents and there was a good bit of rat-holing going on.

-----

Since I've been listening to PMP for enough episodes now, however, I've slowly built up an immunity to your tangents. Either that or my expectations have been sufficiently lowered that it isn?t peaking my ?annoying? radar like it did in the earliest podcasts.

I just finished listening to it. For some reason I feel like a secret guest who is mentioned in each podcast, but never actually there. With school over next week, maybe I can be on one of the next ones. I'm not sure how well the combination of a crappy Internet and Skype on my iPod will affect the call quality though.

Thanks! I made my avatar in MS Paint a few months ago when I was bored.

No I don't have a Vita yet. I'm planning on getting one for my birthday though. (July 10th) My dad usually caves in and buys me something expensive when I ask. xP Last year he got me PS Move. I wanted to be ready for the LBP2 move pack.

There is a positive side to most everything and in addition to that all things are relative to mental state you are in. Hmm. That doesn't make much sense.

Either way, it was great to hear you talk and your energy and dedication to the community, game or both really came through. We need more outspoken, honest people who have some decent sense in their heads.

Cheers.

Wow, it's been a crazy busy week! Sorry about taking so long to reply D-8

So, first of all, I wanted to let everyone know that we will be recording episode 20 of Pocket Moon Podcast today at our normal time (10AM EDT), so you can catch me in the LittleBigPlanetarium chat room if you want to take part in the discussion.

Now to feedback...

@BasketSnake: It's good to hear that you enjoyed the episode. I see that your thread has indeed happened, and we will be mentioning it on episode 20 today :-)

@Trindall: Thanks as always for the honest, in-depth feedback.

It's good to hear that you enjoyed hearing xkappax on the podcast! She was an excellent guest and a lot of fun to have on :-)
It's also great that the 2 guest system is working out.

We may have to have the guests interview us. Perhaps if we struggle to get a new guest on a certain week then we can have 2 repeat guests on and ask them to interview us for the Community Creations section.

I agree with you 100% on the Max Payne vs. Diablo argument. I was hoping the between xkappax and Tom that one of them would care, but neither cared about either game so we just had to skip the topic. If I had talked about it then I would have pretty much said what you said, which is that I just don't have time for Diablo, though I am very excited for both.

Hmmmm... the Mnniska point you make is a troubling one. I have a 3 hour car ride ahead of me today, so I will be listening to the podcast again and I will listen specifically for a Mnniska mention. I thought that I had but perhaps it got cut out on the editing floor D-8

@WeirdyBeardy: Glad that you enjoyed it! We appreciate the tweets :-)

@Cory: Perhaps we will need to start keeping a running Cory mention like we have a running Mnniska mention. Keep those questions coming and you are pretty much guaranteed a mention :-D

@Slaeden-Bob: Thanks for the info! I'll make sure to add a bit about that in episode 20 since we were wrong in what we said.

I loved this episode! One of my favorites so far. Sara was an excellent guest and just as funny as I imagined her to be. Speaking of "on purpose" bad levels, ahem, sig, cough, cough.

Things I took note of:

You mentioned that Steven said he may cut back the MMpicks and I think that's an excellent idea, but maybe to just cut back to 3 a week.
Ah, I see your comments about Redbox has come and bit you in the bee hind(that's Texas for butt) A pox upon thee Redbox! I checked one of ours and it actually had a newer game in it but the dang machine was froze up. Oh well, tis the story of my life.
Max Payne! I loved the 1st one, not so much the 2nd one. I'm hearing good things about this new one so I may try and rent it and see out it is.
Myst--I had a love/hate relationship with this game. It was the 1st PC game I bought and at the time I thought PC games were the be all end all of gaming, so I *gasp* sold my SNES and Sega Genesis (I repurchased some later on) and only did PC gaming. Myst was gorgeous at the time but frustratingly difficult, for me anyways. I swore you needed a doctorate from M.I.T. to figure out some of those puzzles! I played some of the sequels but none had that charm and appeal as that first one.
LBPC8 I'm in the contest crew and I don't know. I would hazard a guess to say Little big planet Contest #8
You were talking about hating to tell people NO about joining and sometimes not even logging on because of it. Take a look here. Hide you online status (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=70381-Hide-Your-Online-Status-Oh-Yes!). It works! I'm constantly being bothered by my dad and brother and is why I made a couple of "secret" accounts. With this, I can log in with my main account and no one knows. They call and are like, boy, you haven't been on in awhile.
The Cheesy sound effects - Ok, I laughed! Just glad it's not a regular feature. I hate to admit this, being an "adult" and all, but yeah, Fart sounds crack me up too. I can't help it, they kill me. I even have that Fart machine program on my PC. It's hilarious and the Star Trek version? Oh my, it will have your stomach hurting it's so funny. Try it out from here. Star Trek Fart Machine (http://www.simonwb.com/Download/STNG%20Fart%20Machine.exe) (rt. click, save as on Chrome and Firefox)
You guys were talking about all those classic levels and I remember a few of those and I thing some are even in the Old Spotlights, which I delve into from time to time. If you could list those so we could...nah, nevermind, that'd be a lot of work.
Questions for next time. hmm. I have a whole list of them. If I think of something, I'll write it down, but I'm going to stray from my list and ask a NON game related question. *Gasp* IKR. I'm a huge reader and just yesterday finished 11/22/63 by Stephen King. It's about a guy who somehow goes back in time to stop the JFK assassination. It was a good read. Are you guys readers? What are your favorite types of books/novels and authors?

That's all I have. Great show and like I said, I really, really enjoyed it. Thank you for the entertainment.

@xerorogue: LOL, yes, the Redbox comment has come back to bite me. I couldn't believe it when I went to see if they had Max Payne and it was full of old games. It would appear that our Redbox guys quit caring about games :-(

I was pretty young when I played Myst for the first time, so I used a strategy guide. That seems really dumb now, but at the time I didn't know the difference. Fortunately I didn't make the same mistake with any later games in the series so if I go to play those then they are not spoiled for me.

The hide your online status link is interesting and something I will try to remember to bring up on episode 21. It would have been brought up on ep.20 except that this post was made after we recorded :-(

I've got my fingers crossed that Tom doesn't see your Star Trek Fart Machine link because once he gets his hands on that I'm afraid we may never hear from him again ;-)

And to close things up, WOW!, excellent question! I really want to answer now, but I will hold off until the podcast. I read a wide variety of things.

@GribbleGrunger: Thanks for linking to the thread :-) Would make a good discussion for ep.21 :-) Now... I just need to remember...

Another great show guys. I would be more specific but I listened to it last week and forgot most of the details =P I will say it inspired me to load up my PS3 and play some levels. I tried searching for some of the classics you mentioned and struck out. So I decided to hit the spotlight instead, number 77 since it was the oldest on the page. I figured I work my way up. While I found them all cool and interesting to go through, after I finished I realized I didn't really enjoy playing them. This kinda bummed me out because there was obviously a lot of time and quality work put into them. I started to wonder if LBP's spark had finally gone out for me. Kinda like that old favorite song that used to stir strong emotions but now is just another song you carelessly tap your finger to on the radio. Ok I'm kinda over dramatizing here but I was a little bummed. Then it hit me. I can't stand how sackboy controls on the PS3 versions of LBP. The PSP LBP has ruined them for me. Am I the only one who feels this way? Also, please tell me the Vita version controls more like it's older PSP predecessor.2012-05-29 04:16:00

@Xenon: It's great to hear that the podcast got you wanting to play LBP again :-D Too bad you didn't have a good time with it though :-(

That's a very interesting topic you bring up about the way that LBP PSP plays versus the PS3 versions. I can't say which way the vita version played because I spent VERY little time playing through a level as sackboy. I was in create mode probably 99% of the time I was there, and even when testing my level I wasn't running and jumping as sackboy because my level was not a traditional level.
