Okay, maybe someone here can help me because the product webstie can't. I got a 160GB Verbatim External Hardrive for Christmas, but my computer will not recognise it. It doesn't show new software found it does nothing my harddrive just bliks blue lights on either side of it and i don't know what to do. Please help!

Mind if I ask what OS you're running? Do you know whether your external HDD is formatted FAT32 or NTFS?

i'm running windows Xp and i am not sure how it is formatted because i can't even get my computer to acknowledge the fact that i have it plugged in. I didn't have enough power apparently to run it using a high speed usb cable. Anyway got it now.
