Lego Stop-Motion Videos

Archive: 35 posts

I'm making LEGO stop motion video's with two of my classmates, there's more to come!

This little Stop-Motion Video was made for school.
Two racers, XD and Turbo! going all out to get first to that finish, leaving a trail of destruction ...
Pay attention to the background too, strange stuff happens there sometimes.

Thank you, its smoother than the videos I did before, but the constant light change and the normal floor being visible at times ... X_X
The video's still bound to be better than my other classmates' groups, not because I'm confident but because they won't put any effort in theirs.

COMIC SAAAAAAAAAANS!! *lifts arms in rage*

Nah, jk. I just like saying that. I personally think Comic Sans is severely overused.

That video was a bit... random.

I demand more. NAO. :kz:

Very good although did you use a fixed camera?

Also you need a permanent light source

Yes, a fixed camera, and Radioactive STILL managed to move it from time to time.

We have learned not to rely on the sun for lighting.

Comic Sans? Where? And the fourth year, I hope we get more weird assignments.

You used comic sans as the opening title of your video

Hmm I wonder why font doesn't work

Hah, I used to make stop motions all the time, until one day I broke my lego baseplate and never bought a new one.2012-05-21 21:18:00

Good stuff! So how long did that take you?

I had a mess about in Eye Create with a Sackboy doll in the hope of coming up with a Brothers Quay-esque masterpiece, but soon realised I have nowhere near the kind of patience needed.

Took about three days, but that's not very accurate, seeing that we were often messing with eachother or playing paper football. xD

We also got the results, just like we tought, we got the best video and high marks.

Pretty cool. Pretty decent framerate too. Must have taken a long time to get it right.
I once made the christmas story in Lego stopmotion. We had a week and barely managed to get it done.
For your video I suggest you get a tripod and bolt it down (tape works wonders too). Close all curtains and use desklamps to light the scene.
The flickering in the video is because of changing lighting (daylight) which takes away your motion a little.
My video is here if you are interested (sucky audio and in dutch though): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7wtCz-kbAQ

Just check my youtube, WoutStopmotion. I have some OK stopmotions, the newer ones are in HD, the older ones aren't. I'd recommend The Chase, HD Test, Fishbot, The Brony Killer, After The Party and Robo-Hobo.2012-05-24 11:44:00

Well i just thought that my older ones where quite crappy, so i'd rather want people to see the newer ones (and better ones).

It's time to put on your big boy pants and be a bit more mature and diplomatic. This isn't the schoolyard, there are people here of all ages and walks of life.

Most forums don't tolerate multiple threads on the exact same subject and no name in the title of the thread designates exclusivity. I imagine even if Wouter did make another thread the mods would have just merged them.

To quote the recently corpsified Rodney King, "Can't we all just get along?"
