Having problems with recorded Magic Mouths on sequencers? Share your voice!

Okay, so I'm STILL getting issues with magic mouths cutting out milliseconds after they activate on a sequencer (leaving nothing but silence for the allotted time taken up on said sequencer). There are workarounds for this, such as changing the settings of the sequencer around, making the stripes longer or shorter in duration. You can also plop a sound tweaker under each magic mouth, with no change in settings, to sort of 'kick start' the sound into playing.

BUT, none of these workarounds are foolproof, and they're both a pain in the patootty to utilise.

I've added my concerns to a year - old thread on getsatisfaction, and I'm posting here with the view to get others of you to do the same, so that this issue can be addressed in future updates. It hasn't had many complaints, so it can't be very high on the priority list right now, but I've heard numerous people complaining about this issue across the forums, so I think it's time we reported it properly. This is the only topic on getsatisfaction I found dealing with this specific problem, so I thought it best to bump that thread rather than add to the threads which need attention.

I agree that the magic mouths are a pain in the - to deal with, but, sorry to say this, this lag is really not the most important one to solve yet. When they'll have fixed the paint tools once and for all, we'll see...2012-05-17 22:19:00

I know there's far more issues out there, but I just wanted to bump the issue back into the limelight. I highly doubt it's a difficult one to solve, so what's to say it wouldn't included with an update that fixes other bugs too?

If we took the attitude of 'there's more important bugs out there' for every bug, theyd never get fixed. I dread to think of someone taking that attitude in a beta of a game for example.

So, I see you point, but I'm just putting it out there

I have to admit I have never seen or encountered the issue Ria highlights. But can totally see how this could be annoying, even with the workaround.


When they'll have fixed the paint tools once and for all, we'll see...
All my corrupted stickers work again since 1.12 I think, haven't had an issue since... Did I miss something?

A good workaround is to not stop the recording until half a second after you've stopped speaking. This means that your speech shouldn't get cut off, as all that gets cut off is silence. Hope that helps!2012-05-18 16:17:00

There were many problems with the paint tool, such as "angle" setting is always on when using a sticker brush, and lights glitch after using the paint tool. Unless they fixed these in the last patch, I didn't try. I'm glad you're saying they fixed the corruption finally.

@Woffit66 The problem is that it cuts the start too, adding an undesired delay.

Yeah it's not the recording itself, as pivott says the recording is perfect, the playback is the issue. I've been recording magic mouths for years on lbp2 and I THINK i've almost got it down to a fine art now, compression quality not withstanding, But, that being said, I truly wish it was this easy to resolve lol!

I THINK they have, but I havent checked thoroughly to be entirely honest. Haven't played around with the paint tool too much for fear of losing work!

Ah well, at least there's a workaround in place for now. I just figured there may be more people experiencing this, as I'm certain I've seen this complaint come up time and time again on the forums!
