LBP2 to play LBP VITA levels?

Archive: 11 posts

Any words on this? I'd love to continue working on my project at school. Also, this is probably too early to ask but, are we getting LBP VITA's new logic tools/tweaks as well? That would be 2012-05-15 13:07:00

There's lotso info on this kind of stuff in the Vita goodies thread, but I didn't read a bunch of it, so I'm guessing LBP2 won't be getting the logic tweaks. It's possible though, but not likely. I also don't think LBP2 could play Vita levels, at least the levels that require any amount of touch control. Maybe it'll be compatible with the Move Pack? I don't know. All I know about between the two is that the VITA can play LBP2 levels.2012-05-15 16:28:00

Vita logic won't be making it's way to LBP2. and we won't be able to play Vita levels on LBP2 unless they do something crazy like making it so you can use the vita as a PS3 controller. but so far there is no plans on them doing that. *mew2012-05-15 16:37:00

Interestingly, that job opportunity Spaff posted on here today... was asking for someone who could design UI across a variety of platforms. So vita to ps3 compatibiltiy may come yet. But still, it's a long shot at best.2012-05-15 17:26:00

*sob* I don't spend that much time inside anymore, my project would be over a lot faster if I could work on it outside. Here's hoping for the best thanks for the replies guys2012-05-15 22:07:00

If you can start making a level on LBP2 and continue editing on the Vita then I'd be sold. We'll have to see what they come up with!2012-05-16 07:19:00

The only thing that transfers from the PS3 to the Vita is your DLC. None of the levels for LBP1/2/PSP will work on the Vita or vice versa. Or so I'm told.2012-05-17 06:07:00

Level sharing and creation won't be cross platform, but you'll be able to play either levels on either console I believe. They'll probably work in a similar way to levels that require the move pack, you'll still have access but will be told to activate your touch screen or whatever.

I can understand their reasoning for deciding against cross platform, but I really hope they at least incorporate some kind of sticker sharing feature, as I'd quite honestly buy the game just for that.

At the very least they should allow the Vita touch screen to be used instead of the Move controller in Paint.

Pretty sure the only thing you will see cross game is the costumes you have bought on PSN. Sorry about stickers/decos/music and everything else. Not going to happen, which also means your custom costumes aren't going to transfer. Also, you will NOT be playing LBP2 levels on your vita or vice versa.2012-05-17 14:32:00

If the (Lack of) LBP PSP community is anything to by, that's not exactly a great move. Even less so considering the cost of a Vita and decent memory card is 3 times that of a PSP. Can see most people sticking with the PS3 for the larger community.2012-05-17 15:31:00

The games are incredibly similar on the front end, which is a testament to how awesome the teams are at Tarsier and D11 but they are also incredibly different at the code level and that's pretty much the biggest reason why.2012-05-17 16:38:00
