Sackbot Mario Bros

BIG UPDATE, If anyone could test that would be cool, let me know what doesn't work.

* Running with B (hold square)
* Jumping with A (x)
* Exact level replica's of all 4 levels of World 1. (Am still working on details, but most of it is in there)
* 4 player compatible, play as Mario, Luigi, Toad and Peach.

Suggestions are very welcome, and please play my level and let me know what you think, positive or negative.

Thanks, but those are (as cool as they are), sprite based levels that try to mimick Mario. I'd like to mimic the mario gameplay, all the things were it feels like LBP, I want to keep. In those sprite based levels, every bit where it feels like LBP, is a 'flaw'.

I'm aiming for Mario style LBP... You play as a sack, but you don't have the depth, only 2D.

Anyway, I figured out how to have 4 players and a camera without it being weird. I lost the cool zooming back effect when you die, but now both losing -10 points when you die, and 'acing the level' work correctly so it's better this way anyway.

Right now I'm making ALL the block breakable, but I see the thermometer rising as a madman, that's too bad, but those blocks NEED to be breakable so every small wall consists of multiple items and chips...oops.

Thanks again for the music

I updated the level, with working goomba's and breakable blocks...and music! I'm gonna have a shot at the koopa next.

There's still a problem with the camera sometimes, I attached a perspective camera on a block that follows the players, but sometimes the block jumps around strangely, does anyone know how I can fix this problem?

Also, I have the sackbots programmed to jump higher than usual, but sometimes, they jump only the regular height. I have no clue why... If anyone knows how to make a perfect custom jump, please let me know.

I added bowser at the end of level 1-4 I'm happy how it turned out!

Camera works much better too now.

I'm still unsure what's the best way to spawn 4 player controllable sackbots. Especially with warping from pipe to pipe. It works as is, but it feels kind of sloppy still. Is there a solid way to do this? Most levels I've seen that work like this are 1P only...

Take a look at antikris' "Controlinator Trickery" thread to get some great multiplayer character select logic.

For warping I would use a few tricks based around destroyers and emitters. You put an emitter on the player follow block and a destroyer on the bot, set it to shrink and the emitter to expand.

You jump on the pipe and it uses the 'only one' logic from the creators toolkit Sackbot respawn. To trigger the player seat return point at the bottom of the pipe, but have a fairly slow follow speed. Any way... You jump on the pipe, it destroys the bot (shrinks) and the chair moves along the pipe because of the follower and it then emits the bot.
