Help with hostile sackbot logic

I know a thing or 2 about logic, but I am absolute no wiz on it. I am making a 2D side-scrolling platformer level for LBP 2 and I need help on enemy logic. I want to use sackbots that can attack me (Not using power-ups such as the Createnator), like it can preform melee attacks but make the player as the sackbot's target.2012-05-13 10:48:00

You mean by using a sword or really its fists??
And how does the player have to react to the attack (die or fly away).

I made a sackbot enemy that follows you around and slaps you. Very annoying.
Anyway it works with a sequencer that powers the inputs of a controllinator that i stuck on the sackbot.

You can make a small AI (Artificial intelligence) on this...
You can make the enemies start attacking you when you or your sackbot is close (in case you are using a sackbot as a player...).
If you use the normal player you can place on the enemy sackbot a player sensor that activates in a range (or if you use a sackbot as a player, put a tag sensor instead), then make that player sensor (or tag sensor) activate a logic that follows the player player and u could set him to attack by making timers that would make the enemy sackbot to attack after a period of time between the attacks...

But there are a lot of ways that you can create AI and I'm not sure what kind of attacks do you want the enemy sackbot to perform and what are you going to control ( normal player or sackbot)...
But I think I gave you a general solution... If you want more info about how to make this, I need you to be more specific in what you want to make...

Thanks for the suggestions so far . To make myself more clear and specific, I want to create a sackbot that will follow the player around and tries to attack the player when near. Attacks such as whacking me with a melee weapon (Like a sword). I tried to create it but the sackbot won't attack me. Even if I place a Controlinator (Set on receive) and let another hostile sackbot over ride that other sackbot.

But the ideas suggested above are greatly appreciated and I will try them out

In the creator's toolkit (look at the cool levels thread) there's slap logic. If you stick that on a sackbot, and wire it to a player sensor the sackbot will slap you if you come close.2012-05-14 19:07:00
