Hello, and Thanks For All the Fish

Archive: 7 posts

Good morning!

I registered here a few weeks (months?) ago, but sort of forgot to come back. My partner bought me LBP for my birthday in 2010 and I loved it. We played it together for a while and despite never playing video games before, she really liked it too. As we progressed further, it became too difficult for her so the game went in the cupboard. I got it out again earlier in the year and played it alone and now I'm very much obsessed.

I bought LBP2 in February, expected just a continuation of the first, but MM made so many improvements. I am flabbergasted at the variety of levels and the complexity of the creation tools. I'm in the middle of making a point and click game in the style of Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle etc, using Move controls. It's going pretty well - after plenty of trial and error, I've got the logic for the inventory sorted and am working on the story in my head - desperate to get it finished but I don't want to rush it. I don't suppose it'll be fantastic - some of the levels people have made astound me - but if I can get it done I'll be happy.

This is entering 'tl:dr' territory, so I'll stop now. My PSN is methodactor, should anyone want to add me. I'd quite like to mop up some prize bubbles in the first game and grab any other multiplayer trophies!

Hello Guitarsareboring and welcome to LBPC! So glad you joined. *Gasp* Day of the Tentacle? Monkey Island? Point n Click adventures is my favorite genre. I can't wait to see what you've come up with. Just so you know, This is really a great place to be. It's an awesome place to make new friends, learn techniques and tricks and just to have a good time. To help you explore the site I'll provide a few links for you.

The Level Showcase (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?40-Level-Showcase) area is the place you want to go to make a thread about your level. We have an optional F4F (feedback for feedback) system where you tell others to check out your level, come back and give feedback/suggestions and you'll do the same for them. It's a valuable system that is underused here. Be sure to use the LBP.me tool (the white bell in a blue box icon) http://www.lbpcentral.com/images/lbpme.png this will pull your level info from LBP.me and place it in the thread for you.
Spotlights (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/content.php?124-Community-Content) -- In the mood to play some awesome member levels? This is the place to go. We're currently on episode 84!
