This level really has it all. Simple gameplay, great scenery. There's even an underwater part. I loved the skeletons that kept popping up everywhere. I would definitely recommend people to play this. | 2012-05-13 23:03:00 Author: Deurklink1 Posts: 346 |
A fantastic level that shouldn't go unnoticed; bump! | 2012-05-14 02:37:00 Author: Unknown User |
This had a nice atmosphere, and made good use of water and Paintinators. I enjoyed it quite a bit. If I have any criticisms, it's that I got momentarily stuck in those underwater wheels between the rim and the wheel itself. You might want to shrink the space between them just a little to prevent unnecessary deaths. so i believe i have fixed the underwater wheel issue. thank you so much for catching that for me! hopefully their shouldn't be any more issues with it. | 2012-05-14 22:18:00 Author: Unknown User |
A fun level with simple gameplay. I only found a few things you might consider changing. When you move the coin to whee it needs to be you may want an activation noise the let people know that the mechanics are moving. I would recommend working with the gadgets to where everything resets after the player has passed. That way they have to redo the sequence instead of running through what they have already triggered if they respawn. At the very beginning at the second drop bridge when I jumped down and got near the wall I hit some invisible plasma and was killed. Other than that this is a very solid level. You did a great job on the scenery and skeleton motif. The check points were creatively decorated and characters unique. It was a simple story and a very well made level that is worth a visit. I have been using timers. It is a lot of logic kinks to fiddle with but I have been happy with the results so far. There may be better ways but I have not found one yet. In my Turquoise level everything automatically returns to start positions. That way if you die you have to conquer the obstacles again. | 2012-05-19 05:35:00 Author: Unknown User |
As I am of the kind of guy who prefer visuals before game play, I can only say this was an amazing level design. Also, the gameplay itself was really fun. I'm not that fond of paintinator, but it was nice in this level. The skeletons, sound fx and light setting were all great! Downsides would be: Hard to see some vital details. Like that red button early under water. It took some time before I noticed it and tried to figure other ways of moving on. Yeah, I have set my tv pretty dark so I'm sure other players dont even think of it this way, but still. On the other hand, maybe the point is to search for it. If so - my bad =) Another thing is I got stuck because the grabbable nut thing under water got destroyed so I couldnt use it (as I'm sure you are supposed to). Maybe you should use an emitter to emit a new one in case it gets destroyed. (it got destroyed as it got stuck in that very small bump located just beside where the nut is found) Anyway, the design is great and it is overall a very nice creation. Keep up the good work! | 2012-05-19 08:14:00 Author: Unknown User |
I personally think that this level had waaaay too many different songs. This one level probably had like seven songs, and some of them, like the Metal Gear Solid one, didn't really fit the level. People usually don't like it when you have a bunch of different songs in one level; they like it better if you simply have one song that fits the atmosphere really well. Also, I found that the level was a bit easy, and that I was getting crushed in random places by random things. However, I did think that the magic mouths on the skeletons were quite well written. The only problem with the magic mouths is that it makes them seem like an attempt to put a story in the level. Although there isn't really any story at all. What I liked most about this is the two or three paintinator obstacles that I'd never seen being used in a level before. Those obstacles were so... original and fresh. The visuals captured the charm of LittleBigPlanet perfectly; the simple visuals with occasional decorations reminded me that this is a LBP level, the way it should be. I'm not saying that levels like 'Overcharged 3D Racer' or 'Fireflight' aren't welcome, I'm just saying that these levels don't have the sort of cuteness and charm mixed lovingly into levels like these. Overall, I'd say this is worthy of a 4/5. I gave it a yay, but not a heart. I see you've worked out a few kinks before I got a chance to get in here. No matter. This was a fun level to play. It looked good, had enjoyable gameplay. I'm not sure if I did the last thing with the paintinator correct, where you knock down the platform and it swings, but the point is I was able to do it. In order to have something to contribute, it's time to nitpick. At the part with the windmill type thing that you shoot, it is possible to fire beyond it and complete some mechanism off screen. This is incredibly important as it completely altered the gameplay experience! And that's it. Overall, this was definitely well worth the play. | 2012-05-20 05:30:00 Author: xxMATEOSxx Posts: 1787 |
Enjoyed this level, was very solid and a lot of fun. I got stuck during the underwater section though. There was something grabbable floating in the water, I tried to pull it along with me to the area I was going to next - but it got stuck in the floor and fell apart. I then couldn't see where to go after that, despite looking around for a good few minutes. I have a feeling the grabbable had to go somewhere for me to activate something? Anyway, yay'd it because I very much enjoyed it up until that part | 2012-05-21 23:22:00 Author: Unknown User |
