LBP Error Screen [Picture & Videos]

Archive: 18 posts

Alright, so this morning, practically last night to me, at 12:13 AM I was looking through my costumes in my Pop-It. I noticed that some of them were not titled (meaning that they were named 'A Costume&apos, so I decided to start naming them. I got all the way down to one last costume (based off of a Heartless from Kingdom Hearts). I pressed Square to open up the details, I selected the name to change it, and I entered in 'Shadow'. As soon as I hit Start, that's when things got screwy. It froze for a second, and then went to this error screen that I had never seen before.

I took a picture of it with my phone (that's why the quality is so bad), which shows the error screen.

It reads:

Problem loading data

There was a problem loading data. This may be fixed by cleaning your Pod. Press OK to clean your Pod. If you would prefer not to clean your Pod, please quit the game now.

X OK

This doesn't really make sense to me, because my Pod was completely empty; set to the default.

Here is the video of my first encounter with the error screen. This was also taken with my phone, so remember, the quality will be bad.

So, you may notice that the first time I selected 'OK', the red background changed to a black background. If you pay attention to the yellow sun thing, you'll see that it is still rotating at this time. However, it is when I select 'OK' once more, and the game freezes. I cannot open up the XMB, everything is frozen. This then results in a hard reset.

Alright, so I got back into the game, and did exactly what I did before to see if it was just a one time fluke. It wasn't. Same routine, except this time I got it changing to the error screen on film (oh yea). Here is my second time getting it, when testing (still the same phone).

Yeah, so I just decided to share this with you all. I don't know why it's doing this, but here's some information just in case it has anything to do with this.

The costume I was trying to change the name of is a Sackboy with the Ninja Skin, the black circle sticker covering the entire body, and the yellow circle sticker placed on the left eye (default eyes), which colored both eyes.

This costume no longer will load for me. When I try to select it to wear, the red exclamation symbol appears over it.

My Pod was completely empty, as mentioned before.

I have an 80 gig PlayStation 3, with backwards compatibility.

The costume is probably corrupt.

Wow, you're a genius. /sarcasm

This was meant more to inform. I doubt anyone has any factual answers to this (here at least).

This error really sucks, it happened to another member. Luos_Desruc... I feel for him because he lost EVERYTHING, he can't even play the Story Levels...

I am literally afraid of turning on my PS3 to check...

Did he get this screen? I was more fascinated than worried when I first saw this.

Yea, he gets the screen as well. And when he presses "X" to confirm, his PS3 crashes...2009-01-03 23:30:00

Same here. Did you even read anything?!?!?!?!?

That's very well documented. Like I said in Luos_Desruc's thread, this happened to me too when trying to publish my broken Christmas level (I think you've seen that thread). Anyway same thing, message pops up and no matter what I do, the PS3 freezes afterward. Post-1.07 bug no doubt... Yet again.2009-01-03 23:41:00

No... You told me in a visitor message last night, why would I need to read the longer version?

ive been warning people all day yesterday..
guess its getting worse.

If there isnt a fix within a week..
I have to wait longer..

Edit, if i recall what happened the day before..
was one of you working on your level when you got invited by someone, and accepted it?

I accepted it before I even knew I was invited.
Just opened my level so it wasnt saving or anything.

Actually, the weirdest thing happened to me before, but it was well before 1.07. I was in Create Mode, and out of nowhere I appeared in a level and a person on my friends list was there. He said that he hadn't even invited me, and that's what really confused me. All in all, I was freaked out and lost all of the work I had done on my level.

The end.

I'm pretty positive this is update 1.07.
I was at my friends when he updated and as soon as he played the game the screen went completely red. The only way we actually distinguished that message amongst it was by pressing the PS button (it faded in the text for a second) loads of times till we joined all the words together.
He quit a few times and all that jazz and eventually it worked, I've not seen him play it again since so I dunno if it goes away after a while sorry
