| ...where can I begin. I liked this movie so much, that it feels it's my solid duty to try and get more people to see it. Released in 2009 after 7 years in the making, Redline is the most awesome, mind blowing, beautiful, action packed, funny, cheesy, insane, mind bending, jaw dropping film I have ever watched. Redline was produced by Madhouse and directed by Takeshi Koike, who also wrote the storyboard and served as unit director and animation director. The film's music was composed by James Shimoji. According to Tim Maughan of Anime News Network, Redline was released several years later than originally planned. Its development took seven years and used 100,000 hand-made drawings, which Maughan notes is all the more unusual as it is Koike's directorial debut. An action drama centered on a deadly racing tournament held every five years and the reckless dare-devil driver who wants to win it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZHlzcx2uyA It's unlike anything I have seen before. It's hand drawn animation mixed with computer color and shading make it one big piece of eye candy that overloads the senses. The action scenes are flat out insane and include some of the most impressive scenarios and visuals I have seen in animation. You'll be drawn in instantly, the opening scene hooks you in so fast that it will have you in awe within the first five minutes. I feel it's a crime that not enough people know about this movie, since it's had 7 years of hard work put into it, which shows. Now,I ask you to give it a try. Get your hands on a English audio version (there's one on Netflix) and prepare to be blown away. Even if you do not like anime, it's just so much fun that you can't help but be drawn in.
