Which game is harder?

Little Big Planet 1 or Little Big Planet 2?

This question applies to story mode. It can be based on how easy the levels are to complete, how easy they are to ace, how easy is it to find the prizes, and how easy is it to get the trophies.

LBP1 was such more challenging then LBP2. It is so hard to ace... I still haven't aced all the levels on LBP1. The Bunker, No way. I'll never do it. EVER.2012-05-09 21:02:00

LBP1 was much harder generaally speaking. But it has one of the best difficulty curves I've ever played. We start out playing levels even 4 year olds could complete and by the end we're desperately trying to not get electrocuted by crazy machinery.2012-05-09 21:16:00

I personally think LBP2 was harder in story mode, but since many people were arguing about LBP1 being harder, I voted option #3.

Completing/acing The Bunker and The Frozen Tundra were only as easy as Set Controls for the Heart of the Negativitron. Full Metal Rabbit and Where in the World is Avalon Centrifuge were really hard to not only ace, but to complete. I can handle them now. It's Flight of the Bumblebees I cannot, but at least I aced all of the Cosmos.

Acing the Negativitron was much harder than acing the Collector. It's harder to beat too. However, some of the bosses were harder in LBP1 than LBP2. Like Ze Dude and The Terrible Oni, I had an easier time fighting all these bosses in LBP2 prior to the Cosmos. The enemies on the other hand are easier to fight in LBP1, but there's only more enemies in LBP1.

I can understand why LBP1 was harder. We started out with only single-ring checkpoints. In LBP2, most of the checkpoints are double-ring. If he had single-ring checkpoints in LBP2, it would me much harder than LBP1, especially in Where in the World is Avalon Centrifuge.

So my overall opinion on acing and completing goes as this:

Da Vinci's Hideout > The Gardens
Victoria's Laboratory > The Gardens + The Savannah
The Factory of a Better Tomorrow < The Weddings + The Canyons
Avalonia < The Metropolis
Eve's Asylum < The Islands + The Temples
The Cosmos > The Wilderness

Was sort of disappointed at LBP2's story mode compared to LBP1. LBP1 was mostly harder but now I could ace all of its levels any day.2012-05-09 22:50:00

How easy was it to collect all the prize bubbles in both games?

In my opinion, LBP2 prize bubbles were easier to find because they were not as hidden as LBP1's prize bubbles, but they are harder to reach (especially in Da Vinci's hideout where you have to swing to get the prizes.

Sticker switches in LBP1 were easier because you don't immediately get the prizes in LBP2 once a sticker switch is triggered. Like in Gripple Grapple, you have to catch up with the prize bubbles, and it's too late to get them once you haven't got them yet when you finish the race unless if you restart.

The co-op zones in prize bubble collecting are harder in LBP2, but with a few exceptions. The Gardens started out intermediate. The co-op zones in The Savannah were completely easy. For The Weddings, the co-op zone in The Darkness is hard if you do it alone with two players. The co-op zones in Serpent Shrine, The Elephant Temple, and most definitely, The Great Magician's Palace, are really hard, even if you're playing with an online player. I got most of the co-op prizes alone because I have two controllers and I use them at the same time. The co-op zone in Sensei's Lost Castle isn't hard at all, but it's hard to get to.

I'll be back to talk about trophies.

Each game has aspects in both of them that make them hard, but I'd have to say LBP1 was harder. LBP2 had a more gradual difficulty curve, where each area got a little bit harder as you went along, but LBP1 had a bit of a spike in difficulty everytime you unlocked a new area. LBP1 was also extremely difficult to ace all the levels. I still haven't been able to accomplish that, when I have the last 2 levels in LBP2 to ace.

All in all, LBP1 is a more challenging game (at least the story mode, that is).

I personally don't see any difficulty curves in the games. Later levels don't get harder and harder in my opinion. I think it's more of a sine graph. It means some levels are harder than the others, and the hard level doesn't have to be after the easy level. It can be before too.

Bang for Buck was harder than both Pipe Dreams and Waste Disposal. The Canyons levels are harder than The Metropolis levels.

I personally think it depends on the person. There may be someone who is incredibly good at both games for some miraculous reason. I found both pretty easy, but to me, it looks as if it's easier to say LBP1 was harder. BUT for this reason--I got it before LBP2 (obviously), and it was my first experience with the game. I beat it in a decently short amount of time, but could never completely complete it. To this day I still haven't found all the prizes. Most people who've played LBP1 can definitely say it was harder, mostly because they remember when they just started and fumbled a lot. However, I'm surely not saying this is the case for everyone, because it's very possible that the first game was more difficult just in others' opinions.
I do think it depends on the level in part, but skill also plays a big part. In MY opinion, levels do become more difficult as you progress further in the game. Normally, people become better as they keep trying. LBP has you trying A LOT. That and you gain knowledge and skill as you dive further into the game. Lots of people are saying the later levels such as The Bunker or The Canyons were difficult, and that's because they just ARE. If the levels hadn't progressed in difficulty, then the game would be a breeze. Tell me you didn't die on your first try on The Bunker. Unless you're an absolutely awesome player, I doubt it can be aced in one go. Even though you've played all those levels and spent all of the time, the later levels still pose a challenge. Because as you progress, difficulty progresses.
As for the LBP vs LBP2 difficulty thing, I'd have to say I'm in a pickle for this one. It's too hard to tell, I remember sucking at LBP a long while ago, but then I became so much better later on. Of course, with my experience from its predecessor, LBP2 wasn't as hard on the first go, but there were still numerous levels that frustrated or challenged me. So, if LBP2 is STILL difficult for me even after beating LBP a dozen times over, I think I'd come to a conclusion that LBP2 is harder. I think the challenge derives or continues from the difficulty of the first game. Like a continuation. Of course, I did say it depended a lot on opinion and skill, so I'll leave everyone else to share their thoughts. :hero:

I think both lbp1 and lbp2 have there hard levels. But I think lbp1 was harder to ace cause of the bunker and the side levels.2012-05-10 21:00:00

LBP1 by far was the most hardest for me. Especially The Bunker, I barely passed that lvl... 2012-05-10 21:41:00

The bunker... The wheel of death... The nightmares... Coming back... The wheel of death... The nightmares... THE WHEEL OF DEATH!

Although I must say, "Where in the World is Avalon Centrifuge" was a most irritating level...

I didnt find WATWIAC Hard at all. In fact, I aced it on my first try trying to ace it. IMO, Bang For Buck was the hardest level in LBP2 to ace. But LBP1, it seems harder to get 100% because there are almost twice as many prize bubbles in a single level then a single level in LBP2. Plus they are hard to find. Very hard to find.2012-05-11 14:34:00

Yeah, that is somewhat true. The level Fowl Play had only 13 prize bubbles while a similar level (Skulldozer) had 31. But honestly, LBP2 had more prizes per level. There are even more levels in LBP2. But yeah, prize bubbles are more hidden. Like in Get a Grip, if you were extremely sure that you got all of the prizes hanging from the trees and the star sticker prizes, but you didn't look behind the queen, you don't complete the level's prize collection. LBP1 had more sticker switches than LBP2.

Another thing I noticed: Collected objects, like contraptions and obstacles, are all from LBP1. LBP2 doesn't give you any contraptions. They only give out lights, food, bits and bobs, and some of these controlinated animals from the Collected objects page in your goodies bag. They also don't give out prizes that we would like. From the animals, we don't get the camel. I would like that because I can study how they made the target (but at least I know how to). They would've also gave us the vending machines. But for the most part, a lot of these story objects aren't needed. Just the materials and gadgets.

Normaly you don't use the contraptions that are given. Mainly cause they don't fit your theme and cause it looks stupid. But I have to say that I like the given stuff from LBP2 more than the LBP1 stuff. (with some exeptions)2012-05-11 21:08:00

The last thing I like to say about LBP to LBP2 is the trophy collection. I liked the trophy flow of LBP1 more, as the trophy flow of LBP2 is scattered, but I think LBP2 trophies are easier to get than LBP1 trophies.

In LBP2, you don't have to get hearts to get platinum. In LBP1, you do.
In LBP2, the exotic achievements aren't as hard as LBP1.
The Ace in Spades trophy is hard, but if it was in LBP1, it would be harder (oh wait, so after all, LBP1 is harder, but at least they didn't have the elevator part like in Where in the World is Avalon Centrifuge)
