Awww please donate some money to our special site... The idea is futile and laughable at every aspect. I don't mean to be rude and whatnot but I can not believe LBPC is this low. As if they are not making enough money from advertisements anyway. It is a fansite not a business corporation. Yea Yea.... Before anyone defends this with saying it's optional but what are you getting in return? I dont care if ConfusedFartman sends his mods on this, there are many other sites like this out there.

You realise the site has been taking donations for ages right, Cpt. Observant? Is this the first of you noticing the Donation thing only now it's on the forum index page? Before the recent upgrade, it was just below the banner in big pink letters 'Donate'. lol Do you know how little ads pay out? It's like... less than a penny per click. Even less if nobody clicks. What do I get in return by donating? Well, a forum for starters. I for one would argue that LBPC is the best kept fansite available, and I have no issues donating a tenner a month to play my part in keeping it running. Also, how exactly is it 'Futile' if we've already hit this months target and then some and we're not even halfway through the month? Clearly people will happily donate, and clearly it is effective in keeping the site up.

Regardless of your opinion, it still takes $$ to keep any site afloat on the internet. ..and you are more than welcome to go elsewhere if you don't like it here.

For starters, if you don't like something you don't need to throw insults all over the place, and to be honest "Confused Fartman" was pretty puny at best anyway. Secondly, what did you expect? Did you expect "Mr Fartman" to have tonnes of money to keep the site running? People have lives you know, and this site is still up because of him. Donating is helping out the site admin, because financially it's though for him, and showing a desire to keep the website we love up. Don't like it? That's tough, buy yourself a heart.

Well that, and the fact that CC is a college student who I'm amazed has been able to afford to keep the servers up all this time. Sure, there were some donators before but most of the money was from him. So yeah. What exactly is wrong with people helping to keep their favorite forum online?

I hosted sites in the past, sites not nearly as big as LBPC, and they cost a fair bit to keep online. I really hope that your are just trolling, if not, your insolence to the very person who has for so long put so much time and money into keeping this site running is shocking. ConfusedCartman has said before that he is finding it more difficult to pay for the site recently, regardless of the fact that the donate option is not new, we should respect this and not spit it back in his face...

Lol, is this for real? I mean, what kind of spoiled, ungrateful sourpuss comes here just to make a thread like this? I donated $10 today. Not out of expectation of what I'll get, but out of appreciation for what I already have....which is the privelege of being a member of the greatest fan forum on the interwebz ever. Anyway, if you have so little respect for the site, how about you keep away in future. In fact, I'll donate another $10 if you never show your face around here again.

Kind of off topic, but this is the first time I've seen this so I thought I'd bring it up. When my mouse passed over I noticed the gem actually had something negative. Wow, talk about hitting hard. On a related note, thanks both to CC and everyone that helps in any way, either through running or donations. This is a great site and I hope to one day be able to contribute to it myself. I actually feel bad that I haven't yet.

Like stated by other members, the site simply needs donations from kind members to help it run. I've deleted a few posts as off-topic according to site rules, and to prevent further off-topic posts, I'm going to need to lock this thread. Cmh, if you still have a problem with us taking donations, you'll need to PM ConfusedCartman about it instead of posting a thread.

I would like to say something small, just in case anyone else out there happens to feel this way: In a sense, charity is the only reason we're still here. We provide a service and in return we ask for your support, either by viewing ads or by donating. We do not force either upon you (you may block our ads if you wish), we are open about how much we make (in terms of both ad revenue and donations), and we're not spending your money on anything that doesn't directly benefit LBPCentral. Let me be clear: if I could host this site on my own, I wouldn't ask for a penny. I wouldn't even put up ads. I only do these things because if I don't, LBPCentral will cease to exist. I'm often spending half (or more) of my net worth on hosting fees, and I simply won't be able to survive if I don't ask for some kind of help from the LBPCentral community. If you don't think supporting us is worthwhile, then don't! I won't hold it against you. But, please, don't accuse us of taking advantage of our community. That's not who we are.
