The Forgotten Aztec Temples

Level Name: The Forgotten Aztec Temples 1.2

It include plane Crashes, Multi-part Puzzle, and of course platformming, and alot of hidden temple rooms. Hope you enjoy

The Video is version 1.0 so it doesnt have the 1.2 elements, which is actually good b/c i added tons of hidden areas.

Ok here's the goods and bads list:

What I liked:

-The look of the whole level
-The plane crash with the big trees
-The waterfall
-The climbing session after the waterfall
-Well placed hidden areas
-Hidden areas in hidden areas

What you can improve:

-Can you manage to make the plane wires invisible?
-Some jumps are really nasty
-Some deaths are unfair like:
Near the horrible red arrow sticker when I pulled down the switch to lower the bridge I UNFAIRLY DIED (and that jump is a pain in the ***).
Falling down the waterfall I reached the bottom and UNFAIRLY DIED under the falling water (ehm... 3 times).
I hate unfairness in a level design, you know? (I don't mean you wanted to do it that way)
-The red arrow sticker mess up a ''littlebig'' too much. lol.
-Why I have to lift the bridge to go open the gate? (near the red arrow)
A timed bridge or something like that would be better (IMHO).

Guess I finished

However one of the biggest and funnyest level I played on LBP.
Rated 5 stars (and I do not give away stars like cheers, despite of what it seems reading my posts), hearted level and author for the 'CREATE'.

Ya, I'm Trying to find out how to make those strings invisable, I've never died in the water fall, but i reduce the amout of water i guess, and fix that bridge area. but thxs for playing, ill be playing you level later today.

You played and left comments on my level, I had a play of yours, here are my thoughts.

The Forgotten Aztec Temples 1.2

+ Looks well, follows a theme throughout
+ Prize bubbles off the main path encourage exploration
+ Use of sounds when switches activate are a nice touch. Many people dont bother
+ Most prize bubbles are optional, however I got one forced upon me

- The plane did'nt crash right the first time, i fell into the gas, then respawned in the trees where the wreckage was laid
- Died twice when the ground fell
- I was taken a long way out of path to have my photo taken!!
- The one prize bubble I had to collect
- The blue gas colour looks a little out of place

**** and "fun" tag left in game

I enjoyed the level. It was definetly worth playing, looked well enough, and the hidden bubbles kept my eyes searching for a better score

Pros:

The vines to swing on look killer.
Overall look of the level.
Lots of foliage
Sound.
Lighting.
Good platforming


Cons:

The plane doesn't look right and took me a replay to crash correctly.
The falling ground gave way without giving an indication that is was going to fall. I hate cheap deaths.
The ending is not as epic as it could be.


Overall a great level but it could be better if you fix the problems I outlined.

Ok I just played your level and liked it a lot, theres a lot to improve but it was good.
I liked the cunning platforming and traps in this level, loads of ways to die in various places. The level desing was great, and all that foliage and decoration stuff was very well done!
One thing that this level would need, however, is more "epicness". I think you could do this by tweaking the lighting at parts, and music (especially at the beginning in the plane, theres no music or anything). The plane part was also a bit edgy, but it was pretty good. Make the planes strings less visible somehow and try to make it more interesting somehow!
Oh and I could do without those prize bubbles personally, my profile is too large constantly (like many others), so try to make place prize bubbles so that you don't have to take them!
I gave it 5 stars despite some of the problems, but overall it was a really good level and I know you'll fix the problems mentioned in this thread. Great work!

Ya, i have music on the plane, but i found it only works when you have multiple people, i dont understand why though.

anyways did you have a level you want me to play?

Nice work.

+ I like levels with introductions, and yours was cool with the plane and the anti-air attack.
+ Nice overall design and use of the decorations.
+ Good challenge, good balance in the pacing except for that part at the top of the temple. (see below)


- The first switch in the temple is not glued to the floor and moved when I pulled it.
- The switch near the top when you first enter the temple, I'm not sure what it opened, but I tought I was supposed to go up, and tried to jump when the spikes board was going up. When I finally got up there, it was just for a photo...
- The score bubbles always point the good way in the game levels and the majority of the user created level too, so having bubbles pointing you somewhere to kill you after seems unfair to me.
- I would like a more "epic ending" as Psybex said, since I think the intro is very cool.
