If I re-call, a doctor can only have 10 versions of himself so the DW should have ended by now >_<. | 2009-01-03 18:49:00 Author: GuyWithNoEyes Posts: 1100 |

12 regenerations 13 doctors (until they pull some crap to write around it) No-one cares anyway so they'll just carry on like everything's fine to make more money. | 2009-01-03 18:52:00 Author: GuyWithNoEyes Posts: 1100 |
David Tennant has done well. He's going to have to be brilliant to step up to him.. | 2009-01-03 19:21:00 Author: KC-alpha-14 Posts: 5 |
David Tennant has, and will be, the best Doctor. Course, that's what I said about the other one... ?_? Also, lol @ DrunkMiffy. Rabid-Coot - you should edit your post with a picture of Miffy's avatar xD | 2009-01-03 19:28:00 Author: Unknown User |
Christopher Eccleston was very good, and I was really sceptical about David Tennant, but DT was by far the best.. The new guy looks pretty weird lol >.> | 2009-01-03 19:38:00 Author: DrunkMiffy Posts: 2758 |
Agreed... I forgot Christopher Eccleston's name then you jogged my memory =P | 2009-01-03 19:51:00 Author: Unknown User |
I really didn't think Tennant could top Eccleston, and he went and pulled an absolute stormer. Honestly though, I don't know much about Matt Smith, and while he will obviously have to have some things that will distinguish him from DT, I can REALLY see the 11th Doctor being the more like the 10th than any other regeneration has been similar to a previous incarnation (if you can get your head around the way I've worded that sentance!) DT has been SO popular with the public at large that making the 11th so different to the 10th will be a ratings disaster, as a lot of those who are newer Who fans are likely to stop watching (I believe). That said, I hope he does well. | 2009-01-04 10:36:00 Author: flakmagnet Posts: 1084 |
Don't like the look of this guy I want DT to stay :l | 2009-01-04 10:38:00 Author: Boomy Posts: 3701 |
That's my dad.... Do they show Doctor Who in the US? I suppose almost everyone who posted in this thread is from the UK actually. | 2009-01-04 14:39:00 Author: UmJammerSully Posts: 1097 |
That's my dad.... Do they show Doctor Who in the US? I suppose almost everyone who posted in this thread is from the UK actually. They show it on the sci fi channel, BBC America shows Torchwood. | 2009-01-04 17:51:00 Author: Rabid-Coot Posts: 6728 |
Yes they do, but it's a fair bit behind IIRC. Torchwood rocks. Just watching throught the season 1 DVD now. | 2009-01-04 20:27:00 Author: flakmagnet Posts: 1084 |
Do they show Doctor Who in the US? I suppose almost everyone who posted in this thread is from the UK actually. Yeah, it's very lowline prominence in the States. Really, pretty close to being not there. And ironically, when I first saw the title and before I clicked on it, my thought was, "Doctor who?" And then a second and a half after I clicked on it, "Oh, wait. Yeah, that's right." | 2009-01-04 20:44:00 Author: Mark D. Stroyer Posts: 632 |
I think there's a pretty big following of Doctor Who and Torchwood in the US, but a lot of people watch via torrents so they can stay current. From reading all the boards, and from watching my wife lol, the fans of these shows are indeed Fanatical! | 2009-01-04 22:36:00 Author: Shalatii Posts: 103 |
If I re-call, a doctor can only have 10 versions of himself so the DW should have ended by now >_<. They're gona have a twist like "he has absorbed all the lifes of the dead time lords" so it turns infinite. I dunno if I like the choice, sure he has the personality.. but he's like 10 years too young imo. | 2009-01-04 23:24:00 Author: Pinchanzee Posts: 805 |
Why wait for #13 to start working around the issue. How many regenerations does the Doctor have? Now that his people are gone, who knows? Time Lords used to have 13 lives. http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/s4/faq/plot_continuity.shtml | 2009-01-05 00:36:00 Author: Rabid-Coot Posts: 6728 |
