Interesting Attract-o-tweaker property

Archive: 2 posts

Note: Not sure if this belongs in tutorials or not, but I'll leave it here for now.

I noticed this a few minutes ago while making a new sackbot for a level that involves switching from walking on the ceiling to walking on the ground with attract-o-tweaker. I was making a few platforms that float in the air, that you can either walk on normally or walk on upside down.

Now heres the thing. If you dont have an Attract-o-tweaker on this platform at all, it functions normally, except when you're walking on it upside down, you will move left, but your sackbot will be looking to the right, and vise versa. I wanted to fix this, so I tried an attract-o-tweaker. For the most part it worked, unless you slowly moved off the platform, you would end up getting stuck. The reason why it would get stuck is because the reason my sackbot is set up.

Anyway, heres the strange part. I simply tried the same thing, but turned the attract-o-tweaker off with a toggle, and everything worked perfectly. I walked left, and the sackbot looked left. This is... a bit strange right? It didn't work right when there was no attract-o-tweaker, and it didn't work when there was one and its on, yet it works when there is one it but its off?

Thought I would share this with you guys. The attract-o-tweaker seems to still add a hidden property to an object, even when its off. Has anyone else noticed something like this? I might post pictures or maybe a video later if people don't understand.

I've noticed this. I didn't post it because I thought it might be a known thing. How I noticed it was that if a sackbot is walking on the ceiling into a wall that has not attractive qualities (I'm not saying it's ugly, I mean not attract-o-tweaker ), the sackbot would become detached. However, if I put an inactive attract-o-tweaker on the wall, then it all works perfectly, and the sackbot stays attached.
I don't think this is exactly the same as what you're talking about, but it's in the same area.
