Two things that are killing me.

I've been away from the game too long. First off. when you are using a movie camera, how do you scroll text at the bottom of the screen? That's the easy one. The second is this. I have a boss. He needs to end up in two places. 1st is on the ground, second is on a hill behind. I want him to jump is a graceful arc. So, obviously, the answer should be a follower. So I set up a series of tags on holo for the followers to follow....and no matter what i try, I can't make it work. I've used a sequencer to activate the tags in the order I want...no go. I have had a sequencer activate the first tag and the tag sensors activate the next ones in sequence...nope. I just cant figure this out. I have all the complex attacks figured out but simply moving from one place to the other is stopping me. So, to recap. 1. He is on the ground and runs a sequencer full of actions. 2. He needs to move through the five tags in an arc to get to the fifth tag. 3. He does a second sequencer full of actions from on top of the hill. 4. He follows the same arc back to the first tag on the ground. Rinse, repeat. If someone can help me with 2 and 4 I'll give you a virtual cookie. | 2012-04-27 16:33:00 Author: Biv Posts: 734 |
If you mean how to get subtitles to show up you have to place a magic mouth on a sequencer and then the option "display subtitles" will be enabled in its tweak menu. To make something travel in an arc you could just place a single tag on a lever or wheel that rotates around a pivot and make the boss follow that. There are bound to be cooler ways to do it but that's the first that comes to mind. Edit: This thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=69375) comes to mind for another way to create an arc. | 2012-04-27 17:04:00 Author: Ayneh Posts: 2454 |
I don't fully understand the situation without going into your level but this is what I suggest, The arc thing, it sounds like you want the boss to jump in an arc and you can't get it to do it. What I'd probably do is have a strip of holo material on a motor bolt or wobble bolt. So basically you have a strip of holo that can spin round like a clock hand. Adjust it to start and stop at your desired locations. Then put a tag onto the end of the holo strip. If you wire the tag itself to turn on at the part you want the boss to jump, then if you stick a follower on the boss corresponding to the tag, when the jump tag turns on, boss will follow, holo strip clock hand will rotate (wire that bolt up accordingly) and then stop where you made it, and then tag will turn off, dropping boss to the ground again. Giving the effect that it's jumping basically. That will make it jump in a graceful arc. Sorry if that's a complicated explanation | 2012-04-27 17:06:00 Author: Unknown User |
Yeah, I didn't think I was very clear. I want to do this: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=67896-Waypointing But trigger it to start with a sequencer and have it not be a loop. | 2012-04-28 01:31:00 Author: Biv Posts: 734 |
Well, using a sequencer isn't the right strategy here, just make it skip to the next waypoint when it gets close to the current one. | 2012-05-05 18:25:00 Author: Unknown User |
