Magic Mouth Question

Archive: 5 posts

Could someone explain to me why sometimes magic mouths audio comes in muffled or distant. I'm using multiple cameras, but the magic mouth is in frame, but sounds distant. It seems inconsistent when it happens so I can't quite figure out why. Thanks for your help in advance.2012-04-26 23:46:00

There is an option called position sound (I think). Turning that off helps alot.

EDIT: never mind...magic mouths don't have that option.

i believe there has been a similar question on here somewhere and the conclusion was that a certain firmware (don't know which) actually caused that to happen occasionally. i could be wrong but i think it's just a matter of trial and error

You can try fiddling with the Ducker option in the Magic Mouth too : ) it determines how audio is heard in respect to location I believe.2012-05-06 18:32:00

Actually the Ducker (http://lp2cd.com/audio_terms/d/ducking.html) setting is used to automatically lower the volume of any background music if such one is active.

The reason the sound is muffled is that the audio of Magic Mouths is actually "positional".

The Magic Mouth gibberish/recording is processed according to the Mouths position relatively to the current viewpoint of player.
Therefore you might experience odd audio behavior when making cutscenes with angled or panning Movie Cameras.
