Giant Squid Boss BattleSunbunny23
Battle the Giant Squid! watch for it's tenticles! dodge them and watch out! your ship is falling apart! dodge it too! Reload your cannon and earn some points.
This is my latest level. Battle a squid. This is challenging and fun. The ship is a wood material that cambridge did not give. The squid is not the prettiest sight in the world but atleast it's ugly. watch out for falling objects and tenticles while getting a cannon ball to reload your cannon! The battle looks good too with the water and the ship wobbles. Probably the most detailed level I made for psp (except the squid. It's not good.) Try it out. Enjoy. Took long time. Being careful to not delete the whole thing. Froze a few time while making this. Tested this a lot. Looks okay with me. Have a good time.

Not that one. lol. I have never seen this video before. If i knew about it then I wouldn't make the level. I guess people have similar ideas at times.

I never knew about this video. But I spotted few things that this level haves/don't have.

1. you shoot the tenicles on the video. my level haves tenicles but you dodge them.

2. all of the sailors died. my level my sailor is using a switch to aim. ( not really but looks count lol )

3. you don't reload a cannon. my level uses a white circle and you have to grab it for about 2 seconds to get a new cannon ball.

And I think I can go on but i'll stop on what I saw in just the first minute of the video. Is that level published? I can't find it. I just searched it up and it's not there.

Ignoring the whole idea stealing issue, I played it, and here's my feedback:

It lacked gameplay.

I enjoyed the concept you were working with, and dodging tentacles seemed promising, but it quickly got repetitive. There was no indication on how long it would take for me to kill it, the ship 'sinking' was never really implemented, and above all... it was just repetitive. I understand that complex logic is well, complex, but don't let that stop you from experimenting with it. I was expecting phases, increasing difficulty, and a decently made visual level, but instead it looked like it was half-assed during development. Also, the switch was stuck so it was a useless addition to the level, and your tentacles weren't very well made. To break it down:

Good
- the concept
- the reloading idea

Bad
- visuals
- repetitiveness
- unnecessary switches/characters
- ship wasn't even falling apart

In honesty, I was disappointed. It's not that I hate this level, it's just that it has potential. For example, you could have the ship start to split apart slowly halfway in the game to urge the player to move more quickly. You can also add scenery, fix the switch, and edit the tentacles to make them more appealing. These are just my ideas, but I'm sure you can come up with better. Overall, :star::star::star:.

yea... the switch was broken. i can't delete it. it deletes the whole thing... it was for the aim of the cannon. I kept the background blank cause it doesn't match the moving ship. I tried using the fantasy background and it just doesn't match it. I can't add a piston so the ship looks like it's moving from the background cause the secret thing connected to the ship with the wobble bolt can't move or fall. I figure the piston would go crazy and automatically kill your sackperson if it goes at an angle (when it goes straight at first then few more tries it goes in a angle {which did happen before in one of my levels}) I had to test it then go back to editing few dozen times ( which will make pistons and bolts go crazy ) if you delete a piston it could delete the whole object or still thinks it's on a piston. I also have to be careful when the level freezes (which limits creativity) which did freeze like 3 times. I could do it on lbp1 but im not interested in making a ps3 version.
