It was fun to hear Raz as you guest, it is interesting to get the voices behind the avatar especially for people I've seen around as long as Raz. The audio was also very clean and clear so it seems like the internet gods smiled on the event or your audio post-processing has gotten better.

Things were well done as usual and I enjoyed the podcast. The discussion about LBN?s QPQ policy was interesting though I can?t remember just why it came up. It can be hard to discuss different forum?s rules, characters and peculiarities while being both objective and well rounded. There are positives and negatives to the different methods that each forum implements and I?m glad to hear that y?all did touch on both, if gently, of the QPQ.

Actually that is what you need in the podcast, more drama, chest beating and arguments. It has gotten to be too uniform, too much about a group of people who typically agree with each other. We need more opposing viewpoints and discussion without a clearly correct answer. Barring that then more absurdity and wackiness will work as a filler. I?m only partially serious in this part but my feedback has gotten so mundane lately that I needed to find something else to talk about.

The part about the MM picks losing their shine is interesting, I didn?t see that thread earlier. I believe that you can argue this one both ways with credible points to each side. I remember many opinionated posts pre-StevenI to the effect that MM picks were too uncommon and that there were not uniform in quality. Some picks were amazing while others were average or poorly made.

Now there are posts that there are too many MM picks and some are amazing and others are average or poorly made. In the game of opinions you argue or you die I suppose.

It seems to me that for a user base as large as LBP has at the moment there will always be people upset with whatever happens regardless of what that is. Maybe those who already had an MM pick do not like the cache of their rare pick being diluted by the influx of more MM picks. There may be those who jealously eye the MM picks feel their work is better and have a case of sour grapes.

People whined and complained about not having water in LBP and then once water was implemented people whined and complained about how water was implemented. Whinging was rampant about not enough MM picks and now you have it for having too many picks. Posts cluttered the forums complaining about the unfairness of the ?boo? rating and the LBP trolls who abused it and now that it is gone we have complaints. ?sheesh-

The segment on Caine?s Arcade is a good bit, quasi-gaming related and an all-around feel good piece. It also falls into the original hand-crafted, cardboard and tape ethos of LBP. Good news needs more press than it gets.

I?m sure there is more I wanted to say but I've got some work that I?m supposed to actually be doing at work at the moment so I?ll sign off here.

Cheers.

@Trindall: It's good to hear that you enjoyed having Raz on the show :-) He was an (!) awesome (!) guest and it is neat having an old friend like him on.

Tom deserves all of the credit for how good the podcast sounds. I believe he used Audacity to clean it up and he has been getting better and better at filtering. I have some good news regarding the sound quality! I just bought a much better headset yesterday which should help improve my side of the audio drastically. We just figured out on episode 16 that the mic on my headset had not actually been working all along, which would explain why I seemed to get softer and louder and there were all sorts of other things getting picked of by the mic which shouldn't have been nearly as loud (like the keyboard or "The Chair").

I was hoping that LBN folks would enjoy the QPQ discussion. I was slightly worried about the discussion because I didn't want to make any site seem better or worse than any other, but the general consensus that QPQ is actually great, though it introduces hurdles that may make the site more difficult for newcomers, shows that it is really no better or worse for having it, but just different :-)

I wouldn't mind more drama. One thing I have wanted to talk about is the Kindred Project because I believe that Tom and I (as well as the rest of the Kindred Team) had very different ideas on how that should have been handled. The problem is that I don't know if listeners would be interested in hearing about that at all. It certainly applies for anyone who wants to do a project involving a lot of people, and it was a major thing since it was featured on the playstation blog and such, but since it was a PSP thing people may just want to hear about something else.

I will try to come up with other topics that we can argue about because I agree that it makes things more interesting.

You seem to be 100% with us on the whole "Whine until you get it, and then whine once you get it" thoughts that we have about how the community acts with Mm. It has happened a number of times and it will probably just keep happening. And BTW, I want to reiterate that I am not saying the Enochroot was whining, but I think that there are a lot of LBP players who are.

Thanks so much for all of the feedback Trindall!

@Shadowriver: Interesting. I have flirted with the idea of learning Java so that I could program on Android, but I think that if I was going to go cross platform then I would probably just code with Unity using C#. Not sure though :-)

This was my entry level to the Pocket Moon Podcast series, and I'm loving it. Yes, I should've been listening to the series sooner. Please don't hurt me. Also, I was smiling through John's appraisal of, ahem, "Jemima's Ditty", which has gained a slightly new name and pronunciation due to the lovely Shadowriver's slight typo. I suppose I'm sorry to Shadowriver for making my LittleBigAudio track titles so hard to read. Anyway, "Jenima" sounds kinda cool... Not sure who "Jenima" is, but she sounds like the kind of lady I'd certainly write a sequencer song for.

Fun, informative and inspiring Podcast, fellas! *tips hat*

I'm happy to hear that you listened to the podcast and got to hear what a big fan I am of your music on LittleBigAudio :-D Sorry about calling Jemima by the wrong name, but all I had to go off of was the YouTube track name. So, the good news it I am telling everyone how much I love your song, and the bad news is I am slowly convincing everyone that your song has a name different than the one that you have given it

Seeing as LittleBigAudio is a very popular topic, we'd love to have you on the podcast sometime. I think I sent you a PSN message about it last night, and nothing is better than getting barraged by the same message on as many media as possible, right? So now that I have PSN and LBPC covered why not give me your email, phone number, and home address so that I can contact you there about the podcast as well

Anyway, thanks for the feedback and for the incredible music that you have shared with the community!

Yep, that's her - she's like a lumber mill when she sleeps. Here is the guilty party in question - in this particular photo she is dressed as a taco:

Actually that is what you need in the podcast, more drama, chest beating and arguments. It has gotten to be too uniform, too much about a group of people who typically agree with each other. We need more opposing viewpoints and discussion without a clearly correct answer.I completely disagree, and in fact I think that is the worst I idea I have heard in a long time. (There, how was that? )

Seriously though, great point - both John and I agree on that one. I mean disagree. Well, what I mean to say is that we have a few topics lined up that we both know we disagree on, so we refuse to even talk with each other about them until we are actually recording. Stay tuned for a future episode.

I?m sure there is more I wanted to say but I've got some work that I?m supposed to actually be doing at work at the moment so I?ll sign off here.I can relate.

Thanks for the great feedback as always Trindall! We will definitely have you on the podcast soon - you're on our short list.

*facepalm* At least your pup is dressed in a costume and not "real" clothes. I can't stand to see dogs dressed in dresses. My apologies if you dress your dog up as a "doll" oh and it's Pronounced "ZEROrogue" over at the Planetarium and LBN and on the topic of pronunciations, is that how you pronounce Enochroot? Ee-nock-root? In my head I always pronounce it Ee-nick-root.

On the topic at hand, which I guess is still the Podcast, which was good BTW. Great show, great guest and great topics. I don't really have anything to discuss about it. Thanks for bringing up Retrocity Rampage, this sounds and looks awesome. Definitely on my list of games to watch. You were talking about the Kinect, hey do you remember the first "Kinect?" only it was called the Activator Ring for the Sega Genesis. What a load of crap this was. It was supposed to make you feel like a ninja or boxer or something. You'd stand in this ring, which was actually an octagon and whatever punches and/or kicks you made, would be transferred to the game...in theory anyway. Here I found a visual representation of it. oooh, and a website. Activator Ring click me click me (http://gaming.wikia.com/wiki/Activator_Ring)
http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080911022016/egamia/images/thumb/e/eb/Activatorring.jpg/220px-Activatorring.jpg

I miss peripherals like the Nintendo Power glove. Now that thing was cool. Didn't work worth a crap, but it was cool looking. I wish I still had mine just for nostalgia and it's probably a collectible now.

Questions/ topics
1. Humor in games -- How do you like your humor served to you in a game? I like to play games every now and then that is supposed to be a Comedy adventure, something like the old point and click (surprise surprise) Duck Man. This game was brilliant! Laugh out loud moments throughout the whole thing. Day of the Tentacle is another one. I'm trying to think of more recent ones maybe on the PS2 or 3 but can't recall any right now. For me, mostly, I think I like to be surprised with humor. Like the other day I was playing Red Dead Redemption and I met a character or something and the dialog had me in stitches or I'd pick up the Newspaper and there's an "off the wall" article that is just hilarious! I've come across a lot of unintentional funny levels in LBP too. I played one a few weeks ago and both my daughter and myself were like What!? "Did he mix up the dialog with the wrong level?" It was hilarious because the dialog didn't even match up. Nowhere close. Like, for example, and this is only an example, not affiliated in anyway with a any particular level. Any similarities are purely coincidental and should be taken with a grain of salt. So we'd be platforming through this level, in the jungle and all of a sudden a speech bubble would come up with, "whew! glad I made it past the volcano, I was almost burned!" I'm like, "What!? Where was the volcano? did we make a wrong turn? What is he even talking about?" Anyway, Oh my good grief, I should be in bed right now.

2. I had another one but will hold it for later. Thanks for the entertainment guys, I really enjoy them.

I am the one who has been messing up your name, and I will do my best to pronounce it as zerorogue from now on :-) As for EnochRoot, I have no idea how that one is meant to be said. I have always said it in my head as Enoch - Root, but I have no reason to claim that that is the correct way.

I remember the Activator Ring like it came out yesterday. I never got to use one, but I remember the ads for it being in all the magazines I used to read, and they sure did a great job making me think it looked fun. If I ever found someone who had one then I would beg them to let me try it just for the laughs

Your "Humor In Games" question is an excellent one and one I look forward to answering :-)

Thanks, as always, for the great feedback xero(zero)-bio-rogue!

no biggie on pronunciations, just picking around. Yeah that activator ring was just a big hunk of junk. I remember the ads for it and some of them had this guy doing Bruce Lee kicks and stuff and so you got all excited and buy the dang thing and it was supposed to work with Mortal Kombat but it was just horrible. Cool, I found some more pics of it.

as bad as the Activator ring was, it couldn't have been as bad as this peripheral:

Who would buy those?

possible topics for discussion on your next podcast:

1: i posted a thread up a while back and it seems to keep popping up which suggest to me that it interests a lot of people... so: is LBP Ageist?

2: with LBPVita and LBPKarting on their way, do you think that some online communities could become diluted?

3: with the amount of negativity concerning the new update and the growing discontent from some members, do you think that LBP2 is really getting worse or is it simply a victim of it's own success? more people, more personalities, more complaints etc.

for general discussion:

4: does Journey prove once and for all that games can be considered art?

5: with the WiiU releasing later this year, are Sony trying to one up Nintendo by releasing LBPKarting and Battle Royale

Hey guys another great show. Just a few comments.

Treasures of Montezuma Blitz – While I have to admit the structure of the game had me hooked at first, this game is designed around nickel and diming you to the poor house. I refuse to give them a dime for this game. TM2 for Android/Iphone costs 2 bucks or 10 TMB plays and is a much more solid game.

Caine’s Arcade - Thanks for showing me this. As a LBP creator I can’t help but feel a kinship with young Caine. In the end we just want people to play and enjoy our games.

Feedback - Since you both always valued feedback in your levels I figured you’d welcome it for your podcast. You guys are on your 16th podcast and I think you’re still acting like newbies. Maybe it’s just me but you seem to spend a lot of time explaining why you are doing things or apologizing for when things go wrong. I think it hurts the flow. It’s one thing to introduce a segment but sometimes it seems like you both are almost trying to validate it. There is no need, it’s your show. Let loose and just do it.

Sorry about being so late to replying to these, but since LBPC has been down for a week I'm guessing it is understandable :-)

@GribbleGrunger: I can't write much a response since we will need to tackle these questions on the podcast. Thanks for all of the questions though! We do not answer them on episode 17, but I am hoping we can get to them tomorrow when we record episode 18 :-D

@Xenon: You will hear us talk about what you said on episode 17 which is live now.
