MM Picks

Archive: 9 posts

When a level is picked by StevenI or Spaff... or whoever, that person leaves a detailed review on the level, which is "pinned" to be the top review. That way, it's the first review you see on the level (instead of some crap 3 word one trying to get likes), plus when you get all these people moaning asking why a level was picked, the reasons are there for all to see.2012-04-20 20:37:00

Ok I'm going to say no... simply for the reason that if they post the reason, I believe people will copy the concept desperate to get an Mm pick and then we'll end up with even more identical levels. I see what your saying... but in all fairness the level author could just delete those pointless reviews.2012-04-20 20:40:00

The sheer mind-numbing volume of pointless reviews will overwhelm even the most OCD riddled creator. Believe me I tried, but after a few weeks was forced to conclude I have better things I could be doing. Also, it actually generated even more pointless comments from people asking about all the deleted ones.

Would be nice if a review/comment could be deleted without leaving the useless "deleted by creator" entry...

This seems like a decent idea to me (if MM is already leaving reviews for picks anyway (are they?)...may as well pin them). Don't see a problem with folks desperate for a pick copying the idea...if it's well executed, great, if it's also good enough for a pick, great. It's not like the MM review will be 10 steps to guarantee a pick...

There's also the fact that MM might not have time to write so many reviews! That and kids will go through MM reviews with a fine-tooth comb and say "YOU LIKED THIS GUY'Z GAMEPLAY MY LVL HAZ GUD GAMPLAY WHY I NO GET PICKED RAWR". >.>

It's not the worst idea, although it could cause problems like the ones mentioned above. However personally I'd find it interesting to see why MM enjoyed a level, and idea-copying probably wouldn't be a problem if the picked level was good enough (what I mean is, I can't see the average H4H-er trying to copy Roller INC and expecting a pick).

Fact is 50% of community levels are identical meaningless drivel, I highly doubt we'd notice a few more! Such a feature might even inspire a bomb survival level designer to try something new, which would be a triumph for sack-kind!

Ultimately the idiots who might potentially use this feature to make a nuisance of themselves will always find other ways to do so, so if MM are on board I'd endorse this idea!

You forgot that they already did something like that:

And no body complained and actully i was thinking they could implement this in-game. So this is untrue:

And fact is StevenI is the one who do jambo rviews if you gonna check

I didn't forget about those at all... on the contrary, they helped me arrive at my conclusion. Did you know that they once featured a bomb survival very early on in the game... they called it unique... a few days later they were everywhere. The sad thing is... like always... the original idea was vastly superior.

Plinko Madness

It was a genius idea which rightly deserved an Mm pick but because the developer said they liked it for its falling timed explosives... the community distorted it and the modern survival was born... coupled with the copy button it quickly grew out of control.

I think nower days they are giving out many MM picks to levels which any really that ammazing, I think they should go back to having MM picks hown tthey used to be. and give whatever his name is a whole different tab all together.

but the problem is now people are only playing MM pick for good levels, as as they seem to have this fear of hurting people's feelings to do anything about the cool wall why not just hire him to hand pick the cool wall or something.once I reported a level for having major swearing recorded on a mic. it took them 10 months to do anything

I'm getting smarter after every level I make, but I'm also getting more serious. Mm Picks may one day be worthless for me, so I have to go somewhere harder; winning a contest.2012-04-25 20:33:00
