Enter the Fangs!

"Them Fang siblings be at it again! Wendy 'Foxx' Fang and Jake 'Wulf' Fang are robbin' the cargo train headed to San (insert Western town name here!), but the big bug can't possibly abandon town to go after them. They've made so many robberies you'd think SOMEONE would have slammed the bars on them by now... But no! They're too fast, too cunnin', they say. That's why the sheriff be comin' to the help of these curious-looking strangers. What would be in it for them, you askin'? WHY in tarnation would they help him and the town? Glad you asked! Because they are well-hearted sackpeople, of course... And because they get a third of the sheriff's bank funds! Sounds about good, don't it? Nice good ol' dinero. Best be hopin' that masked buckeroo don't show himself up..."

Alright, so this is the second idea I've publicly shown. I don't normally do this as I like to keep my ideas to myself, but heck, I got plenty more. I probably won't be showing off much else later on, however.

Anyway, regarding gameplay and level design, the level will mostly be a train-chase as the players start at the furthermost cart, jumping from cart to cart in an attempt to get to the very end before time runs out. Why? Well, I won't really mention as it has to do with the story. If you're that interested (which I doubt for now), just PM me. But anyway, from cart to cart, you'll be avoiding small obstacles and solving small puzzes, doing whatever necessary to reach the end quickly. In short, a train-chase! (Well, not LITERALLY a train-chase... not like it'll be one train chasing the other!)

Personally, I'm not 100% sure if this can be done yet, taking in consideration all the gameplay mechanics I've seen. I'm sure I can work a way around any difficulties, though. Thinking about it, it's really not that hard!

Reminds me of the Old Back to the Future Part III Sega MegaDrive game where there was train level. I think this is a great idea! How about if at the end, you get to the driver's compartment, and you have to control the train to avoid obstacles?2008-08-15 07:28:00
