Changes to your profile could not be saved due to an unknown error

Archive: 9 posts

Anyone know what this message means and why I am seeing it?

I can't create any more stuff now, because it won't save a dang thing I do.

Hi Ungreth.

I'm very sorry to hear this

Lotus_Flower (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=69749-Changes-to-your-profile-cannot-be-saved-due-to-an-unknown-error) and Ali_Star (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=69669-Error-Please-Help!) had the same issues a few days ago. I hope their experience can help you

Wow... I had this a few days ago too.

If you do a google search, there is a Get Satisfaction thread we a response from someone from MM. You'll need to take a backup of your profile though... something which I couldn't do.

Failing that, I managed to fix it by deleting a lot of crap - unused community objects/photos, and some of my own objects. Then I went into one of my levels, made a minor change and saved it. For some reason, that seemed to fix it. Hopefully this works for you.

Don't know how it happened for you, but mine seemed to pop up after I got disconnected from the internet.

After 3 cases (that I know of) in the past week or so, maybe MM should look into it?

This is all very unfortunate and seems to be happening more so lately.

Keep your profiles neat and tidy, people....if you're an avid creator, it's a nightmare. All my work has been halted for now because of this.

Well, that's not good if it's happening to other people too. Wonder what's causing it.

It happened to me after opening a captured object that a friend sent me as a gift. It wouldn't save the object or let me save any of my own creations after seeing the message. I reloaded my last profile save which was thankfully only 2 days previous to the bug, and it seems to be saving ok again now, but I did lose a little progress by reloading.

I think until this is fixed the best thing everyone can do is backup their profile very often. Maybe everyday you start up lbp2 if you can remember. It seems like thats all you can really do for now since the cause seems pretty unknown.2012-04-17 16:51:00

That's EXACTLY how mine happened!

NK827 sent me his music he's making for my game, and since then it's been playing up. Must be a bug Mm needs to address.

Glad yours is working now.

This seems to be the cause of LBGift messages if I'm not mistaken. It happened to me once, but that was a long time ago when I entered an overheated level with a local player. Nothing really happened at all after that message popped up, so I didn't think much of it. I think Dre is right, back up your profile like there's no tomorrow, always have a backup. Always.2012-04-19 02:39:00

Alright, I got this crap happening to me right now and I only have old backups. Somehow the game let me back up my current profile but then to test it I loaded up LBP2 on my other PS3 and tried importing the profile and it said it was corrupted. So now I'm jjust going through and lock publishing levels I'm keeping and one with all my objects in it then I'm reverting to the old backup. before I do this I need to know, does reverting to a backup change what's published on your earth. I.E., will the backup levels I'm putting on there be gone when I revert to the old profile backup so I can copy them over?2012-04-19 03:34:00
