Metal Gear: Vr missions

I actually started this project way back in january, but I stopped working on it for months. I'm thinking about starting it again, and I thought I'd share it with you guys, plus I may need some help. If anyones played Metal Gear Solid 1 or 2, you're probably familiar with the VR missions in those games. They're basically a test of skill where you have to either get to the goal without getting spotted or some other goal such as eliminating all enemies. I'm most likely only going to make pure stealth missions. No way to harm the guards, no way to distract them(subject to change), just pure sneaking to the goal. Its going to be a top down level, and while I dont have a full stage created yet, I do have a few photos of sample areas that I've done. I could use some ideas or maybe better logic. Features added so far -Wall hugging when hitting a wall -patrol system for the guards. So far only includes going from one point to the next. -detection system. Every guard has an invisible field of view. If you walk into it, it will emit an invisible dot that follows the player. Is this going to be from metal gear solid, or the stand alone VR game? I would be interested in doing some level or character design, or some concept. I can try to help with some concepts for some of the substance VR missions (the gurlukozilla [or whatever it's called] could be really fun to work with). If you're detected, you'd be sent back to the last checkpoint right?
