How to make certain decors change to player color?
Archive: 8 posts
There are certain decorations that can change colors. But there is no way to tweak or wire them some how. How do I do it? | 2012-04-16 05:57:00 Author: Unknown User |
If you put them on your sackboy, they'll take on your popit color. However, if you stick them on a small piece of hologram and tweak the color of the hologram, you can achieve the desired effect for levels and such. Hope that helped! | 2012-04-16 06:40:00 Author: Ninja_Gnome23 Posts: 198 |
if you stick them on a small piece of hologram and tweak the color of the hologram, you can achieve the desired effect This... but fun fact... messing with the holo's speed setings will also directly effect the decoration... for example, the flashing digital watch can be made to flash slower, faster, or even stopped. | 2012-04-16 19:41:00 Author: ForgottenEnigma Posts: 1414 |
Oh yeah! I forgot about that, haha. I had an issue with that once though. I wanted the heart digital stopped on the big heart. I got it but when I saved it as an object and then placed it again, it was stopped, but the whole digital display was just red...oh well. | 2012-04-17 04:06:00 Author: Ninja_Gnome23 Posts: 198 |
Sorry, but it doesn't work. I attached the decor on the hologram, but then I have to make sure that hologram light is not seeable. So I lowered the brightness to 0%, but that also turned off the decor color. Do you have any other suggestions? | 2012-04-17 06:53:00 Author: Unknown User |
You use a small bit of hologram and a player sensor, put the sensor on the holo and wire it to the holo also. Tweak the holo to 'player colour' when on and set off however you want for the stage style. Sticker the holo completely with the black sticker. Then stick you deco to it. You can use the dimmer option of the holo to control deco speed also. As the player sensor will send an analogue signal, meaning the animation gets faster as you get closer. Oh it actually doesn't NEED to be a player sensor, just something that transfers ownership via logic. So a controlinator on the holo, making it grabable and using a grab switch etc will make the holo the player colour. | 2012-04-17 08:53:00 Author: Mr_Fusion Posts: 1799 |
As some people told on this thread, you only need put a decoration on hologram, and just set it, as animation speed and colours. You can also connect logic tools to the hologram to activate/ deactivate the animation itself. You can also do the same using sticker panel or another material ( if it have colour settings ). | 2012-04-17 12:18:00 Author: Unknown User |
Ok, the black sticker method worked! Thanks for the help. | 2012-04-17 20:42:00 Author: Unknown User |
