Stoned Technology - BrosefJenkins

Hey fellow knitted creatures! I recently just published my new level, Stoned Technology, I would be grateful if you could check it out! Here are some pics:

It revolves around the attracto goo and bouncepads. Make sure to find all the 5 secrets and get the best time!

Nice level. One bit a really liked was the bit where you use the bounce bad on the attracto gel to go up and around, and over to the one across from it. I actually said "That's cool" out aloud.

Great work on this Broseph. Really liked everything about it! Innovative gameplay and some of the best usage of the attract-o-gel I've seen in a level before. the visuals were Quirky and fun, and the stone character was quite cute. Although I feel as if he was just placed there to make a quick story.

The only flaw I found when I played this, was that the level was a rather laggy experience. At some points I would miss a jump because of the lag. Not sure if it's preventable or not, but it only took a tad away from the overall experience. Anyway, loved it! Great work

Sorry took a while to get back to you, but I did manage to play through this a couple days ago and I really liked what I saw (if I remember right). As I recall, there were some great gameplay mechanics that I really liked and I felt the design really gave it that traditional platformer feel. Another pro here is that you were able to have four directional gameplay (the level lead me right, then up, then back left,...etc) as opposed to most levels that simply side scroll and don't fully utilize the vertical components.

That was pretty fun actually. Pretty fun gameplay ideas mixed with pretty scenery. My problem with the level is that it is at time a somewhat buggy/unpolished experience. For example some of the jumps seemed to have been tuned so that you would juuust make it for whatever reason, I'd rather just make it. Also the stone bit was just..weird. What was up with the music at the first cutscene? O.o Also, if you either go back after the cutscene or run through the cutscene like a madsack the music will mess up. You might want to take a look at that.

I also felt a little sad inside for you breaking the rules of LBP by having un-reachable layers for no proper reason, as in there was an invisible wall blocking you out from the back layer. Most levels I have played recently have done this actually, but that dosen't dignify the decisions to break the layer-rules

Last thing, the multiplayer. Wy won't you let people play with their friends? Recommending people to play it alone is fine, but stopping players entirely from experiencing it with mutliple people is just plain rude. I didn't see any gameplay elements where you HAD to be alone either, fix it!

Altogther a pretty fun level that needs a bit of polishing, love and friendship. (friendship as in multiplayer support :B )

Thank you! The reason for no multiplayer is that the lag is crazy and the launcher that sends you flying; it won't activate with 2 people. And about the plasma, I had to. If there was none the player would end up in the back layer when on attract etc. Thanks for all the plays! I'll keep that in mind for my next level! 2012-04-19 12:46:00

Lol, and yes, it was me who came up with that epic sauce attracto fly around the platform and land on another gameplay thingy.... ?

Teehee, I stumbled upon it by accident when making a simple gameplay element that is found in the Muppets Pack. (There are 2 walls with attracto, you run up them and bouncepads launch you back and forth between the walls). But, by accident, I didn't make the second platform long enough so it sent you flying around. Evil_Fishy saw this and went WOAH, then he made it into what it is now. Brosef made it look pretty
