Sonic Unleashed: Buy it?

Archive: 10 posts

I dunno. Should I get this or not? PS3 or Wii? The game looks good, and the demo was fun, but it's had such bad reviews I just can't trust it...2009-01-02 20:31:00

No, no.

There's much better games to buy then that.

I agree, don't like the look of it.

I've heard from a number of people that it is terrible. I wouldn't buy it, rent it if you really want to try it.2009-01-02 20:34:00

Agreed, and if you're looking for timed button pressing, you're much better off with a music/rhythm game. 2009-01-02 20:35:00

It's honestly not too bad. PS3/360 version are the best. The Wii version has way more Werehog sections, and they control horribly.

The final level is an unfairly difficult place that magnifies the problems of the game as a whole. "Hey, let's walk across these thin pipes that demand total concentration and precision. But, hey, let's make it so the camera is zoomed out and at an angle!"

The Sonic stages are great, but QTE needs to die in a fire.

I'm going to be reviewing the game in a future podcast on our site but...

Bottom-line (re: PS3/360 version): It's fun when you're playing Sonic, it's okay when you're playing the Werehog but it's not okay when you realize you had to collect the Sun and Moon medals to progress through the game.

The Wii/PS2 versions are different from the PS3/360 version and some people actually like it slightly more than its prettier brother.

1. It's not worth the money no matter how good a sale is on it.
2. Sales encourage the publishers, this travesty of Sonic's past needs to stop now.
3. NO!!

i enjoyed the demo i must say, but from everthing i can tell there's about 3 hours of that type of game play in the whole game and way too much warehog crap. my advice, just keep playing the demo over and over again2009-01-04 12:23:00
