"No Offense"?

Archive: 18 posts

Do you really think this is necessary? I mean, it's basically insulting someone.
"No offense, but that's a HORRIBLE drawing."
"No offense, but you really suck at this."
"No offense, but that makes you look ugly."
Seriously? It's like stabbing someone and then saying "sorry". And, like the video will mention, it's such a contradictory phrase! You say there's no offense intended, but then you just say something offensive. Sure, you aren't trying to be mean, but you are without trying. Liar.
Listen to Jim Bob (ThePennyProductions) testify!

I totally agree with this guy. What do you think?

I'm not sure. I guess it could be offensive depending on whether the person is trying to give feedback on whatever it is, without intending to 'offend' them, evidently.
If it really is out of spite, it probably just means the insulter just doesn't want to be hurt back, or is just insecure.

That's what ThePennyProductions said in his description.

This phrase is definitely needed if its intended for constructive criticism, but there are people in this world that will use that phrase only to go on and say something offensive...

It depends. I think you can use it when you're giving a personal opinion that could be easily interpreted offensive but it isn't meant as an offense. Of course some people use it to mask the fact that what they're about to say is offensive.

You shouldn't take "you suck at this" as an offense if it's not a lie. I wouldn't want others to make me believe I'm good at doing something when it's not really true.
"Hey man, why didn't you pick me for your team?"
"No offense man, but you suck at this"

Harsh truth but truth nonetheless.

We kind of do the same thing in the south. Our "Southern Hospitality" is "Aww, bless his heart..."
as in Awww, bless his heart, this thread is terrible. You can also use the derivative, which is just the saying backwards, like this. This thread is terrible, bless his heart.
Some other uses:
She's uglier than a Monkey's armpit....bless her heart.
Awww, bless his heart. He's dumber than a box of hammers.

For quality entertainment make sure the joke you're reading is a genuine Rabid-Coot joke and not some mediocre cheap knock-off.

She's uglier than a Monkey's armpit

Uhh, hello! What's so ugly about a monkey's armpit?

But anyway, I accidentally used the "no offense" quote, and I think I got someone mad. When someone is like, joking at me bt saying something rude or something, I say that they're fat, as like a comeback or whatever. Even if they're REALLY skinny I say that they're fat. So I called one guy fat 'cause he said something to me, and he gave me the evil stare, so I said "No offense" and uhh, whoops.
