Coded Door Example
Archive: 5 posts
In response to This (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=6887) thread, I made machanism for a door in LBP that requires you to enter a 4 colour code. It is located near the UK. My PSN is Aceradd. Try searching 'Aceradd coded'. I intend to update with an optional prize bubble with it in (or if you don't want it, a point bubble so you still get on the scoreboard). I also want to make a code visualiser, so you can see what you have entered. Please comment and suggest improvements. It doesn't really show how it works yet, but I plan on making it so in the future. The level itself isn't much aesthetically either. UPDATE: V0.6 fixes a major bug encountered if the player inputs 1231, which fixes a lot more too. Expect an optional example as soon as MM fix the object saving bug. | 2009-01-02 20:14:00 Author: LFF ![]() Posts: 434 |
I just played with this and it works really well. What does the orange emitter to the far right do as no matter whatever I input it doesn't seem to change its state from always on. BTW how's that prize bubble coming along... I'd really like to get in about the guts of this thing. | 2009-01-25 17:32:00 Author: jack_spratt ![]() Posts: 2 |
I'm glad you liked it. I can't remember what the orange emitter is, so I'll check later, I've sort of not worked on this for a while. The prize bubble, I've tried making the whole thing an object, but because of the object bug, it's making all the wires disappear, so I'll either make the obejct once the bug is fixed, or tidy stuff up and make the level copyable. I might improve this over the next week actually. I've been wanting a version that requires all four inputs before accepting or denying the code. A visualiser would be nice, too. Thanks for commenting ![]() | 2009-01-25 17:56:00 Author: LFF ![]() Posts: 434 |
Thanks I think I've got it sussed, I just have to find some time to play around in create mode. I've tried loads of ways to do this (mostly including pistons) and no matter which way I did it came across problems. This seems like a very effective/elegant solution. Please keep me up to date if you decide to publish a copyable version. | 2009-01-26 18:29:00 Author: jack_spratt ![]() Posts: 2 |
