Shrinking Sackboy

Archive: 3 posts

For the last couple of months I have been working every so often on a level (coming soon to a planet near you) and I feel I am making very good progress.

The story is essentially this: You are in Japan and the master of the house wants some tea. You have to collect the five ingredients to make the tea; with each ingredient on a different level of the house eg. the water is in the basement.

At the time of writing, I have only two levels remaining and then some final decoration et cetera. The penultimate level is where you collect the tea leaves and I had a great idea of shrinking Sackboy down to climb through cobwebs and circuitry.

I have created a set for the miniature sack boy and have programmed a sackbot to become the player. This was handy so that I could generate extra space for this level of the house and it also brought up a good gameplay element.

I ask this of you: Do you know any levels similar to the premise of shrinking Sackboy? Or at least a level in which Sackboy is miniature? And if you have any ideas of obstacles for these shrunken sections?

Thank you so much in advance if you do reply, and be sure to look out for my upcoming level "Teatime in Japan"

Well, LittleBigMe by steve_big_guns puts you in the shoes of a shrinking sackbot. The gameplay is amazing (as you'd expect). You should be able to get a lot of ideas from that level. Here's the link: http://lbp.me/v/21t94f2012-04-14 02:28:00

Thanks very much for some feedback, that level was very clever and it has certainly inspired me for obstacles that a miniature sack boy would have to overcome, especially the weight aspect with the catapulting platforms.

Much appreciated
