Extra Layers Help

Archive: 6 posts

I've been hard at work on a new project and I'm working with the extra layers glitch in the level. I've been using comphermc's extra layers cascade from his data transfer level and everything's been working smoothly.

However, the cascade of extra layers he provides only go so far. I believe they only go 14 or 15 layers into the foreground and 24 or 25 layers into the background. I really love this "tool" and it'd be great if anyone could refer me to a similar cascade of extra layers that go further into the foreground and background. Or at least teach me how to make extra layers deeper into the plane.

Thank you.

um you could try Pookachoo's cascade... it's what I use, but I'm not sure it has any more than Comph's one.

However can I ask... Why could you possible need more than 43 layers (and that's not even including any thin layers)?

Yes, mine has 30 foreground and 30 background layers. Usually you don't need more than that, since 30 layers in the background is pretty distant and blurred.

If you need to send an object more than 30 layers into the background:
Start by sending it 30 layers back, then just send it back again by however many layers you need.

I love Pookachoo's tool! I used it in Peter Panda. Don't forget to switch to front mode if you ever lose track of your extra layer objects.2012-04-09 18:36:00
