(Note: This level is only 25%-30% complete. I am posting right now so that I can get some good feedback before I risk making a "quantity over quality" level where it's long/large but the quality of the level isn't that great.)

DESCRIPTION: The Goo Factory is a level where you must use goo, a substance with interesting properties based on how it was developed, to get across the outdoor factory followed by the indoor factory. Mr. Goo will give you a tour across the "publicly visible" area of the factory, which is only a small portion. Some parts of the factory may be tricky to get across, but you might just feel rewarded once you pass them. The final level will have the tour and 10 puzzles. There will also be a second level with five two player co-op puzzles and five very difficult puzzles, which can be reached with a level link from the level select room.

UPDATES:
Update 1: (4/6/12)
Fixed some minor things such as the bounce pad in the first puzzle is now sticking to the metal surface, the goo below the first goo gun was showing out a little, and some camera tweaks were added to the third section with yellow goo. A new puzzle was also added.

Update 2: (4/7/12)
Fixed the problem where Mr. Goo does not appear before the blue goo makes its appearance. Holographic arrows added in the first yellow goo section to show player what they should be doing. Third puzzle added; this one requires a little bit of thinking unlike the others. If you try to skip the end of the first puzzle and all of the second puzzle, the green goo will stick to an invisible wall, then a denied sign appearing. You can also get the ticket for the level select room, but I have not completed it yet so the ticket is currently useless.

Update 3: (4/8/12)
First part of level complete. Warp room accessible with ticket from prize bubble after tour. First 5/10 story puzzles playable. Level ends when screen turns black.
BACKGROUND INFO: The Goo Factory is a level with an idea that took quite a few months to come up with. Meaning that I had no idea what to create in LittleBigPlanet for a long time. A few days ago I started on a The Invasion of the Spacechickens level, which may someday be finished and published, but I felt it'd end up having the "just another platformer" feel like most levels. As I was working on it, I thought about goo for some reason and decided to make a level with goo. I didn't want a generic goo level, though. Therefore, I make goo different properties based on color. I made a list of the goos:

TYPES OF GOOS:
Yellow: Bouncy
Red: Explosive, not lethal to Sackboy
Blue: Electricity (but not lethal; used for powering things up)
Pink: Plasma - lethal
Orange: Attract-o-tweaker (Not introduced in the tour, not in level yet)
White: Sliding (Not introduced in the tour)
Green: Sticky
All: Grabbable

It may seem like there is a lot of goos and it'll be hard to take track of, but they're introduced gradually in the level and "puzzles" begin requiring different goos for trespass.

ENDING STATEMENT: I do want feedback and suggestions for improvement. I want to know the goods and bads and what should be used often in the indoor factory (the majority of the level). If you have suggestions for adding onto areas or adding secret spots, I'm all for it. Thank you!
P.S. There is no technical end to the level. You end the level when you feel you're at the part where I stopped.

Well, all I can suggest is some inspiration if you play my level called The Goo Refinery. It showcases only one type...attractogoo. the creatinator shoots out a glob of goo and any surface that it sticks to gains attractogel properties for six seconds. I might also suggest you narrow down the different types to a few that would have the best gameplay.2012-04-06 03:34:00

I actually played that level yesterday. I really enjoyed it, but I couldn't get past the part with the rotating electric rectangles. Some of the goos only make a few short appearances, but some of them are used often in the level.2012-04-06 03:40:00

Added to my queue to give a go. Be great if you could get a chance to try out mine.

I played this last night but my computer started making all kinds of weird noises so I gave it a rest till this morning.

I think there's definitely potential in this idea, I had fun on it but a few parts it took me a while to work out what I was supposed to be doing. On the first yellow goo section I went down to the goo and couldn't work out what I was supposed to do and found it hard to get back up so didn't think that was what I was supposed to be doing. Eventually I made it up though. Maybe some camera work or lighting might be able to point out the way to go.

I think this idea would work well if you were able to make parts of it need more than one goo to advance, not sure how you could do this single player but maybe a x2, x3 or x4 section could do this.

I did enjoy myself when playing this so I definitely think you should carry on with it but the quality of the puzzles will decide whether it is a very good level or not.

Thank you! I'll make sure the rest of the puzzles are trickier. I'll be fixing the yellow goo stuff and will make more difficult puzzles.

Edit: Just played it, it seems like it'll make a great level! The only flaws I see: It needs to explain things a little more. Mr Goo says he will yet never does. Make sure that's put into the final version! Also, the aforementioned yellow goo-pit does need a hint. Perhaps one of those V-shaped arrow stickers could be placed somewhere? (I don't know how to describe it; the curvy V shape, it looks like it screams JUMP! It's in the Doodle category)
Other than that, great stuff! I enjoyed the bounciness, personally.

Mr. Goo kept disappearing in the spot where you start seeing the blue goo, oddly. I ended up hooking a rod up to him so that he couldn't move and die or something--whatever he was doing to disappear. For the yellow goo spot, I added some holographic arrows that appear as you go down, bounce, then come back up. Mr. Goo is also the only one that talks in the whole level.

Alright, that seemed to fix it
I'm not sure, but the arrows maaaay still be too vague. It's hard to say, since I already know what I'm doing. Hopefully you'll get more people to critique for you, and they can tell you(: If it's not clear enough to them, I recommend a few more arrows (not too many!) and an animation that'll constantly play them. So, for example, four arrows, two on the left and one on the right, and the middle one "hitting" the bottom.
Don't change anything unless you feel you need to, as like I said I'm not sure if it needs changing. And if you need help on anything, I'm really good with logic and I'd be more than happy to help. This's a pretty great level in-the-works

I like the way it looks, and i like the goo-guns. Something that especially looks nice is the wooden fortress. But in some places it's just too hard to understand where to go. If you want people to like your levels it's always good to try and focus the attention of the players to key elements, like switches, or other important places. Make it simple to understand where to go, but not too obvious. Overall i gave it a smiley face Try to make a level which only uses 1 or 2 kinds of goo if you make another in the future2012-04-09 22:46:00

Hello.

I played this few hours ago, I liked the visual outlook and some pretty impresive puzzles and way of how you use attrack-o-gel, but I have the same problem as few others here. Sometimes its really hard to understand were to go next, I still tried make it to the end until that elevator part came and the darkness Right after that I was really confused and I just didnt see anything, first I was on the elevator but when it goes up I died, then I jumped off that elevator and then I was traveling in darkness, alone, lost, scared and confused Still I see that you have really tried on this one and it wasnt made in hour. It just need little fixes here and there
