Make things move in the direction they're facing?

Is there a way to make items move in the direction that they're facing? Basically like a rocket, but minus the physical thing? I understand movers make them move in a specific direction, but up is always up, not forward, so is there a way to cause things to go directly in the direction it's facing?2012-04-04 14:07:00

Turn the 'local' option on a mover to on.
I think rocket rotators can help too but I've never really experimented with them.

Hm, I guess I never realized that option was available. Jeez... If only I'd have known. You'd get a kick out of the stuff I can do with LBP2 and didn't know that...2012-04-04 14:14:00

Rocket rotators do the opposite, i.e. make things face in the direction they're moving.

I don't find Rocket Rotators to work very well. I had a piece of hologram. On it there was a rocket rotator facing straight up. (I know this because I used the grid snap option). I then had a mover on it making it go straight up. For some reason the rocket rotator made the hologram drift to the right and eventually making a 45 degree turn before hitting the end of the level. This was a while ago so my guesses might be off a little. Was I doing something wrong?2012-04-05 03:02:00

I think that the arrow might be off in this logic piece. Try compensating by rotating the chip to the other way.

Just a small tip, if you're working with gyroscopes or rocket rotators, its a good idea to have angle snap on. Just the slightest turn can cause then to not perform correctly.2012-04-05 05:48:00
