Advanced Online Multiplayer Shooter/Strategy Game (WIP)

Hello everyone. Evil_Fishy and I are starting this HUGE GIGANTIC ENORMOUS MASSIVELY AWESOME ONLINE MULTIPLAYER.. Okay, well we just started, so it isn't that awesome yet >.>

Well, since we don't even have the characters finished, I'm just going to list what we hope to include in the level. Here goes:
- 2-4 Player, individual screen (Online Multiplayer) versus shooter.
- Each player starts off with a little money (That's right, currency system). You kill enemies on the other team to gain money. (Only 2 teams).
- With the money, you can purchase buildings that provide resources for the team. (Example: Vehicles, Guns, Defenses, Support, etc.)
- You can choose where these buildings will be placed, multiple building foundations will be preset.
- Each team has a main base, (one building to start). The team can expand on their base by building more buildings.
- Number of different weapons: (Depends on thermo)
- AI Troops: (Depends on thermo)
- Number of vehicles: (Depends on thermo, at least 2)
- Map size: (Depends on thermo)
- We don't know how winner will be determined. (Maybe he does? We just started and haven't shared all of our ideas yet)
- Top Down shooter

Our progress so far: 1% .. We hope to get a lot done over the summer. We have BrosefJenkins' scenery expertise to help us along the way. If you have any comments, questions, or violent concerns, please let me know below

Well, it's been a few days so I thought I would let you all know what has been done
First of all, the character is in the first processes of being designed. The logic that goes with it is 90% done. Also, the submenu systems that go with each foundation are 50% done. We have added turrets to our game also .. Those are always fun

For normal foundations, you can install:
- Gunsmith
- Mechanic
- Supply Building
- Spawn Beacon
- Anti-Human Turret
- Anti-Vehicle Turret

We also will be making special foundations made only for turrets.
That's all for now .. Hopefully I will have pictures up soon.

Hey, Wolf! I'll be a part of your mmo base if you be a part of mine when I'm further along too! I'll need players and more importantly beta testers!
Check out some of these videos in this forum, it has tons of details in text too, but it's a little lengthy to expect you to read it all haha.

This sounds similar to Starhawk! (I played the beta.) This sounds like a really sweet idea. Just wondering though, how would you go about having an individual screen for each player? Would you emit certain terrain when they reach it? (Grid like?)

Yes, it is Starhawk themed It's a similar remake of the actual game. And while in versus mode, each player can have an individual screen (only if you're online).. For example.. If I'm playing with a friend I joined through the internet, the screens will work. But, if I'm playing with my friend who is on the same PS3 as me, it won't. (Hence the "Online Multiplayer")

Food for thought, make sure the HUDs will never overlap, otherwise both people will see eachothers stuff which looks clunky. That's why my HUD for each player in my game is small and individualized, so it's ok if everyone sees it.2012-04-04 20:54:00

What I have right now is a HUD that is circular. It wraps around the player and looks neat. What I think we will do is come up with a system that tells the HUDs to move away from eachother when there is close combat.

I think all we will need is beta testers for now. We have 3 people contributing and I think another will help with scenery. Not entirely sure who though.

I can help with contributions on spare time if you need, by the way. But obviously, my main focus is on Last Hope right now.

We don't need your help at the moment, but, when it comes to when we need to make the character animate, I will send you and invite Any help given will be noted in the credits that will go along with the level.

UPDATE: Level has been put on hold for a little while. I'm finishing up an older project first. It should be done soon. I've planned the rest of the things needed to be done before I continue. Hopefully in less than 2 weeks I will be back working on this.2012-04-13 02:48:00

Once you guys are finished with this level, you should make the same thing but with the 3D FPS Cam By Bremnen. He has a neat one, and it would be schweet to see if someone could pull off something like your doing with a 3D FPS Cam 2012-04-19 15:25:00
