ok, firstly is every input frozen, mainly the ps button? Cause if the ps button works it may just be taking a while to reload the pod.

Also, it may be worth checking your blu ray disc for scratches or dirt etc. If your disc is new it may be faulty and you should be able to exchange it at the place of purchase for a new one (depending on your country of course)

check all cables are properly attached

and maybe... but I'm not sure... make sure you display settings are not putting strain on the tv? but I'm not sure about this.

Finally, and maybe most impotantly... if you need to restart because of this, wait until the yellow hdd light stops flashing (to avoid hard drive damage) then hold down the on/off button until the console shuts down (around 10 seconds). If you touch the switch at the back you may cause damage to the console. The ps may also ask you to scan the hdd when turned back on... you can skip this by pressing circle but I do not recommend doing that.

Sorry this ain't more helpful, but as I'm not a programmer, not much I can comment upon for coding reasons. However there is a couple of official developers on this site (those with pink names) maybe they will be kind enough to shed some light on your issue. If you want the help them out, you can post your problem on getsatisfaction.com and they will look at it.
