Working on a new invention

Archive: 3 posts

Hey guys, I'm currently working on a new item, and if I perfect it, I will revolve an awesome level around it and maybe share the invention...

The invention is a realistic black-hole effect. I created a black-hole that sucks up any player within it's vicinity. It won't kill you but it will make you hover in the air revolving around nothing for a limited time. I incorporated it into a creatinator and now I have a hat that shoots black-holes! It has awesome effects such as a shaky camera along with a thunderous rumble sound that makes it feel very powerful! I'm know I'm not the first one to try this. In fact, I was inspired by another player that made a very cool one. Also, if you shoot multiple black-holes with your creatinator, you can create a worm-hole effect where you can jump from one black-hole to another to get across long gaps.

But I would like some advice from some of you LBP elder gods.... How can I make it suck up other objects? I would like to put obstacles in the level that can only be removed from your path with a black-hole. Any advice is appreciated!

Also, check out my "Cosmos Pinball" level. It has really good reviews because it's unlike any other pinball machine in LBP. Let me know what you think!

well, I'm not really a goddess of LBP, but I might know a solution to your problem. simply have a tag sensor on an object, that detects when a black hole is emitted, have a mover activate by that tag, and have another tag sensor activate a destruction chip on the object that is set to shrink. that is what many other people do for black hole type things and what not, but there is probably a better way to do so... ?2012-03-28 23:02:00
