Gray's Faves!

Archive: 8 posts

Hey guys, I get to play tons of awesome levels all the time, and with my schedule currently free at the moment, I'd like to reccomend a few levels I find that are of immense quality and/or charm. I was gonna say this is a weekly thing, but I haven't a clue how far I'll get in terms of finding some great levels.

Well anyway, without further ado...

Here are the levels I loved the most this week(ish):

PANIC! To the Disco! By: Cdcus! (http://lbp.me/v/ewzzfr)

What a fantastic level. Loved the charming story and the cute gameplay. I'm also forgetting to mention that this guy has hit the nail on the head when choosing someone to compose music. You can find the composer in the level description. There are some rough edges, but nothing that hinders the level in any way possible. Check this dude out.

Heavens Waiting Room. By: Caster5mm! (http://lbp.me/v/ex3wq2)

A charming, sad story from a japanese player. There are some grammatical issues due to his language, but all in all it is translated very well, and deserves to be watched. The sets are very well done and the story is quite interesting. Very cool level by a very nice guy! He tried my levels out when I played his, and gave a little review!

The Ultimate Detail Tutorial. By: ViggoBalder (http://lbp.me/v/ry5nez)

An immense collection of tutorials on how to create lush, vivid scenery in practically any enviroment. This level isn't like the others in the fact that the pacing for the tips is perfect. Baby steps now!
In the near future, there will (Hopefully) be a tutorial for multiple enviromental areas, such as indoors, and Outdoors in the city, but at the moment only the Temple, and Forest tutorials are open for buisness. If your a budding creator looking for tips on visuals, or even creating in general, give this level a play, you'll be making awesome envrioments in no time!

Well, thats all from me for now. If you've got some reccomendations of levels you think I should feature here, shoot me a PM with the details and I'll investigate!

Happy Gadding!

This is great stuff gray. If you can keep this up, that's great, even if there are weeks you can't do it. I know what it's like trying to manage weekly things like this, and it can be a pain when things like schedules or technology aren't on your side.2012-03-23 04:07:00

Thanks guys! it's not meant to be a massive thing, but rather a nicely (semi)-regularily updated Reccomandation thread that we havent really seen on the boards yet. 2012-03-23 22:49:00

King Orca and his Evil Sandcastle of DOOM! By: Lordmagicpants (http://lbp.me/v/09-50y)

Let me start off by saying that the creator is already quite active around these parts, and has been MM picked for his Kleptomaniac puppet series, but that doesn't really affect the plays on his other gems in the rough such as this. King Orca has made a massive sandcastle on the beach in hopes to take over the wo- err make every see him in flattering, tight swimwear. in this wonderful adventure you must infiltrate his sandy domain and put a stop to the rubbery menace! Lordmagic pant's quirky artstyle and imaginative platforming obstacles will keep you entertained right through to the scoreboard. I really enjoyed this level, and I hope you do too.

鬼あそび -Play Tag- (2~4player only)[JPN] (http://lbp.me/v/5748rn)

In this fantastically scary multiplayer versus level, one player is chosen randomly as the monster, as the others roam around the deep, dark corridors of the playing field. The monster can sneak, and scare players by turning out their distinguishing red glow by command and surprise their soon-to-be victims. The hiding players are equipped with nothing but a flashlight, and can hide in the various areas surrounding the map. Playing with 3-4 players makes this level one to replay, and the scary aura of this level is extremely prominent when in game. A great versus level that I think you should all consider the next time your looking for a good time.

The buffet offering a fish of a box cat ~箱ネコのお魚食べ放題~ (http://lbp.me/v/6q0pwm)

This hectic multiplayer fun fest has you scrambling to eat as many fish as possible within the given time period. Players must hop around and chomp on fish with the R1 button until they enter what I like to call "Super-Sayan" Mode, and can fly around and earn double points for every fish the bite. If your looking for a quick diversion from creating, or just want to relax and fool around with your friends, this is defiantly the level for you.

イクシオン発電所 Ixion power plant [JPN] (http://lbp.me/v/6evhkm)

In this wonderful japanese level, the creator has your running around a wonderfully crafted factory including great visuals, and quality, fun platforming. The random unicorn at the end of the level is quite a nice photo-shoot backdrop, if you haven't noticed Give this one a play, it only has around 718 at the time of this post!

Alrighty guys, I'm having a lot of fun discovering some great levels. Hope you all have fun!
