Temple of a Dozen Challenges!

"In hope to aid the good professor (insert name here!), our brave heroes venture back in time, deep into Amazonia, in search of the Lost Temple!! Lost throughout the years due to the unforgiving flow of time, the sacred Kekul artifact is believed to be one of history's most precious relics. It's up to these determined sackpeople to help us understand Amazonia's past, making sure the Kekul artifact comes back (along with them!) through the tunnel of time. Clues from research have led us to believe, however, that said artifact was kept away very safely, as it was one of the jungle's most precious treasures, having been crafted by the gods themselves..."

So there you have it! That's the story so far. Regarding gameplay and level design, it's supposed to be 12 minigame-ish challenges. Think Wario Ware...but longer minigames...and on steroids. You sackpeople better be on your tippy-toes!

Ah. The catch, you ask?

One life. You die, it's over. Zip. Nada. Done. EL FIN! Try again!

I'd love to give an example of one of the challenge, but I rather keep them for myself right now. I'll be sure to ask anyone who's interested for their help in testing and the likes. I already have over a dozen of these planned out in my mind, so if one doesn't work out, in comes the next!

Dude, it's easy!!! Srsly.

Think of an everday activity, for a 4 inch tall sackboy that'd be an adventure!

You can make a level of Sackboy traversing the kitchen for a glass of Pepsi.

but thats a general story... the amazon story give the plot, setting, and a character.
getting soda is boreing... now if you were to make the sackboys go through the ghetto of detroit and face viscious dogs (bite you) and gangs (throw ciggaretts and burn you) to get to the store and buy a 2oz travel bottle of booze so that they can get plastered and put grafitti all over the library wall... that is an every-day situation with a great story. (I pulled that out of my ***)

Thanks, guys! I hope to develop the story a little bit more, just to make it interesting and not so bland.

And Briguy, don't worry so much about it! Just ask people for ideas, I'm sure someone will help... Friends, people here at the boards, etc. You can even ask me, I don't mind. ;D

Great Story so far!...I cant wait to try this level out...

Pleaseeeeeeeeeee...do not dumb the diff down...

I am so tired of videogames these days...they almost draw you a chart and hold your hand while your playing...grr

Haha! I know EXACTLY what you mean... Thing is, say the players get introduced to a story... Then they jump into the actual gameplay. You die. Start the level over...and go through the story again ugh... I might make a sort of "skip" button so players that want to just beat the level dig right into the action.

Sounds good, I think.

Oh, and I don't think giving an extra life or two will dumb the difficulty down. Besides, it's always nice to compete for that record time!

Lol, I love the 'Dozen Challenges' , not 1000 or anything intimidating like that. It'd be funny to call it 'The temple of half a dozen challenges... or so'.

Love the idea, and the stories you add to them all.
