UPDATED: PIXEL BOXING (Champion Edition)

Now Including:

*Single Player sparring session/training
*Angular/Circular Ring movement

Pixel Boxing is inspired by Activision's "Boxing" for Atari, and a deep appreciation for the sweet science of Professional Boxing.

Although this game may be perceived to be just a cute, simple, beat 'em up challenge between 2 players, it may also be perceived as a classic strategy game, or an effective test of reflexes and wills between two adept players.

Pixel Boxing isn't sincerely suitable for players who randomly mash buttons. The mechanics are based upon the essential aspects of Pro Boxing. Rapidly spamming or bundling random punches will lock up or arrest a players movements and possibly leave them open for punishment. You're encouraged to develop self control while studying your opponent, and thinking before you move.

The game provides you with an effective blocking ability, unlike "Boxing" for Atari. Like actual boxing the player is required to contract his or her movements in order to build up a defensive shell or guard. Blocks in Pixel Boxing are produced by pressing L3, and movement is produced by directing L3 or Left Joy Stick. Note: patience may be considered a virtue and practice makes perfect...

In order to punch the player is required to relax and expand by loosening the guard and pressing any of the top L and R buttons. You may utilize left and right Lead punches or left and right Power punches. Straight Lead punches or Jabs are effective at reaching an opponent from a distance and countering Power punches or Hooks. Power punches are effective at close range while centered on the opponent, and deal out extra damage as well as earn the player more points.

Fundamentally, like Pro Boxing the goal is to land more punches or deal out more damage than your opponent while defending yourself from the dangers of being stunned or knocked out before time runs out. Punches score effectively when landed on the front center or side portion of the opponent's head. If a player accumulates excessive damage a Stun will soon follow, indicated by a flashing light and a moment of paralysis. Each punch landed on an opponent disrupts their offensive advances and paves the way to a K.O. win. Note: a single punch landed by your opponent may also disrupt your momentum.

A player has 3 minutes to win by Decision (Points) or K.O.. A win by K.O. nets a higher score than a win by Points. Although a K.O. is a high scoring win, the highest scoring win is a Flawless K.O. victory. A Flawless K.O. victory occurs when a player who has never been Stunned, KO's the opponent. Note: Penalty points are deducted for hitting an opponent moments after a K.O. or after the final bell has sounded.

The more a player plays and nets high scores or wins, the higher their versus percentage shall rise up on the score board. This game's challenge rises solely based upon the level of competition that a player faces. So if a player is looking for more of a challenge, the player can potentially network with other sufficient players from the Score Board.

This is a versus game at it's purest state. The challenge simply exist between 2 players, and not between 2 players and multiple obstacles. So excuses for losses are limited. Pixel Boxing is simply one on one Fun.

I played this just the other day and really enjoyed it even though I had to play alone with a second controller. I had fun beating myself up so I can imagine how much fun it would be with another person. I remember the old Atari game and thought you did a great job paying homage to it. I love the animations and the different types of punches and then the effects of the opponent being hit and/or knocked out were great! Awesome job on this man.2012-03-24 19:00:00

Yeah this was really well done, the sprites look great and the animation is solid to. I also only played 1P but had fun. I always wish that there was some AI in these things but understand how tricky it is to do.

Anyway, grab a second player and beat the snot out of them!

Whoa, so it's not available anymore?? I played this a few times with a friend and had a great time! Very satisfying to just wail on each other. The sound effects are great. We tried doing some strategy with blocking and hooking, but always seemed to revert back to rapid jabs, hehe! I also like how after you KO someone, if you keep attacking, you lose a TON of points. The first time that happened to me, I was like WHAA???? It was hilarious. <32012-04-09 18:48:00

You are the perfect Creator you are sincere you are caring and honest Shame LBP2 is dying. People don't recognise perfection in Retro remakes or an original game concept without attachment from a known game. They crave give aways and glitches it is very sad the community cool pages rarely lets the cool levels make it to the top. I used to love this game so so much . Create games you like noone plays Create games that loads in 5 seconds and are multiplayer and simple you get 25000 plays . Your boxing remake was spot on as though I had been in a time machine its a shame you feel you have to hide a classic masterpiece but I understand as you want the right audience to play.
