Who likes. I personally do because I love shooters like that, it is a hard game but is very good when you get used to it. Share you're thoughts here!

It is easily one of my most favorite games.

Rarely do I play a game more than once, and I've only ever played two other games over and over and over and over...
Ocarina of Time and StarFox 64.

But Uncharted was just a huge surprise for me. I didn't keep track of it at all, and the few videos I saw weren't impressive, but I got it just because it was being made by Naughty Dog, and I was hoping they would satisfy me somehow.

But wow.
I must have played through the game over twenty times now... >_>
And I still don't mind going back for more.

I played the demo when it came out and wasn't... impressed, to say the least. I felt the aiming and cover system was poor. (if I recall correctly, been a while) On top of that, the voice-overs were translated to Dutch (as my system's language is Dutch) and I never like that. Should I still give it a try nonetheless, seeing as it's a platinum game, so I should be able to get it quite cheap.2009-01-01 17:31:00

Yes, Dyna, give it a try.

The general consensus is that Chapter 4 (the demo) is among the worst parts of the game, anyway...

But yeah, that game is AWESOME! >_<

Recently actually bought it (rented it a few months ago), and am playing it on Crushing, though I'm kinda not blazing through it at the moment... but yeah, especially considering it's half off over there (I got it used for 45 dollars using Gamestop's buy two get 1 free sale >_<).

Anyway, um... great game!

If you change the system language the game language will automatically follow it. Although I am fairly sure the game has its own language options.

Yeah it's a fantastic game. I bought it not long after release, have finished it 5 times at this stage and have all the trophies. Honestly it's just plain fun. There's enough challenge for it to be satisfying on normal, or probably hard if you're a big shooter fan, the characters are extremely likable, the story is interesting, the environments are beautiful, the graphics and animations are excellent and the gameplay IMO is very good.

Honestly the only reason I can think of not to buy it is if you won't buy games without online multiplayer. But TBH I don't think very many people who buy this game will be able to stop themselves from playing it more than once... it's just that much fun! And the trophies, treasures and tons of unlockables in the game help too I guess .

Easily one of my favorite games this gen. Very anxiously awaiting the second!

The shooting mechanics felt clunky to me at first but felt better after getting used to them. As far as atmosphere and character development is concerned this game is right up there with Metal Gear Solid 4. In fact I'd go as far to say that this is much more accessible than MGS4.

The hardest difficulty is the only way to play. I like it because it's not Call of Duty on veteran hard and frustrating, but it's still a challenge.

I don't like the way they got the difficulty curce the wrong way around, theres places early on where you'll die loads then by the end its relativly easy.

Well to be quite honest you could say that about any game... ever.

Mario... jump, run, jump, run, jump, run.
God of War... jump, run, press [], [], triangle... run, do qte, run.
And dare I say it... LBP... run, jump, hold R1, run, jump .

Oversimplifying things like that is pretty annoying and tbh doesn't paint a flattering picture of the writer. Pretty much every game ever made is repetitive.

I have to be in agreement with TheArmedReaper about this game.

I did play the demo, it seemed okay... people were raving about it. That is not always a good sign, but I did buy this one.

Anyway, I thought it just terrible, frustrating and repeatative. You do die a lot, the gun fights are exactly the same mechanics except you are behind a different piece of cover, and the climbing puzzles are often obscure and non-intuative.

I got through I think about 2/3rds of the game when I just gave up in frustration. It was just far too over-hyped, boring, repeatative and frustrating.

Certainly, you can reduce many game mechanics to a simplification of controls, but take Resistance, Fall of Man, a shooter that came out before Uncharted.

The different weapons and the different scenarios really add depth to the game. In Uncharted it's all about staying behind cover, waiting till the shooting pauses, then popping out and hoping you hit the bad guy while you are not getting flanked and blind sided, resulting in a very cheap death. EVERY fight was like that. There was NO CHANGE at all to this mechanics, just different guns and locals that really made no change to it.

Stealth did not really matter. Sniping really did not do anything. Genades don't make too big a change. It's all about hiding behind cover and hoping you are not blind sided. That just says to me it's a poor, boring and repeatative game.

Did I say it was repeatative? Let me just repeat that again in case you missed it. Boring, frustrating and repeatative.

So yeah, I'm one of the other 5 PS3 owners that don't like this game. The only reason I still have it is because I haven't seen any decent trade in deals for it.

The first time I completed it was Christmas time '07 and I also thought it was extremely frustrating and repetitive; even though I played it on easy, I only really felt any flow with the controls towards the end. Then a couple of months ago I decided to give it another whirl on hard / crushing and suddenly my experience changed completely; really understanding the cover and accurate or blind fire mechanics, employing melee to the fullest, and experimenting with all the weapons, somehow gave the gameplay a sense of flow. Also on Crushing especially there's a real sense of strategy as you must plan your offense/defense very carefully and quickly.

The game's not for everyone, it does need some getting used to, it seems to be a real "love it or hate it" sort of thing.

Actually, the enemies don't have a "synchronized timing to come out of cover", which is one of Uncharted's strong points.
It has some of the best enemy AI you'll find in a shooter.

And it's the same in all games: the setting keeps changing, keeping things fresh.
To nitpick to such a degree is a sign that you aren't sure about what you dislike about the game, especially since all games are the same: they only change the setting.

While some games give you new abilities, others give you more powerful abilities.
Because Uncharted is branded in reality (in terms of the main character), you're not expecting to learn telekinesis halfway through, are you?
No, you just expect to gain more powerful weaponry, which is what happens.

My guess is that you don't like the overall feel of the game, which, judging from the reasons you have given, seems to be very plausible. >_>
And nobody can blame you for that.

Because they can do it.

If you've played the game (even the demo), you'll notice that the enemies will use some impressive little maneuvers against you, from flanking to actually drawing out your fire.

Unless you were playing it on Easy, of course. >_>

What do you want them to start doing?
Run at you head first and try to clobber you to death a la CoD?

Oh, and if a company says that they wish to improve upon something, that doesn't mean that they're admitting that it was bad in the first game, just that they can make it even better.

But they said in an interview about Uncharted 2,"We admit the AI gameplay wasn't that good, but we are going to improve it in the sequal to come", or something along the lines of that.

I suspect I was playing it on easy, and it sounds like from most people that makes for a bad experience of the game...

But still, that just seems really, really stupid to me. You want easy to be a walk in the park so you can enjoy the story and setting, and not get frustrated by the game mechanics. Having to play a harder difficulty level to make the game mechanics work is plain dumb.

I still stand by my view that it felt exceptionally repeatative. Sure, it's realistic. In a real fire fight a semi-automatic will likely kill you if you go charging in, so you want to take cover. In a real fire fight getting blind sided will likely kill you very quickly indeed.

But still, it just feel really lame to me. That's my opinion, and I'll stick to it.

And remember as well, I was not just commenting on the combat. There were many times in the jumping puzzles where things made no sense or bordered on "reality breaking".

You have a tower 20m in the air... so... you climb up it's walls. Who in the world does that in real life?

And who takes endless 7.62s and keeps on running, jumping, and delivering funny dialogue in real life? That's part of the game experience which... isn't for everyone, admittingly. Like I said, it's one of those love it or hate it kind of things.2009-01-02 18:42:00

Oh for God's sake. That is ridiculous! Did you really just ask that question? It's a game! What game is realistic in all honesty?! And especially a shooter like this, with platforming elements, it isn't meant to be realistic, it's meant to be fun! Sure much of the platforming probably isn't actually possible but neither is it possible for the Prince of Persia to run on walls, and it's highly improbable/impossible for Lara Croft to do somersaults from one precarious pillar to the next or to jump off of the faces of tigers and shoot them while spinning through the air.

I still stand by my view that it felt exceptionally repeatative. Sure, it's realistic. In a real fire fight a semi-automatic will likely kill you if you go charging in, so you want to take cover. In a real fire fight getting blind sided will likely kill you very quickly indeed.

Now I don't have a problem with your opinion in feeling the game is repetitive. I don't agree, I think it's no more repetitive than most shooters and most games in general which all use a few core gameplay mechanics in many different environments and situations. I think you're entitled to your opinion. But it isn't really realistic... I mean in reality one bullet will pretty much kill you or injure you enough that you're unable to continue. I mean even crushing mode, while quite difficult, isn't actually realistic.

And remember as well, I was not just commenting on the combat. There were many times in the jumping puzzles where things made no sense or bordered on "reality breaking".

Wait so one minute you're complaining about it being realistic and the next complaining about it being "reality breaking"... maybe I'm missing something.

Are you joking? Who in real life is a little guy made of thread, who is real life is a soldier fighting chimera, who in real life can control time..

I really liked that game, I rented it and I wish I had bought it. It had a great storyline and the dialogue was really good as were the voice actors. I love third person shooters as well.

As far as realism, name one action game that is totally realistic and still enjoyable.

Well, when a gaming friend of mine was trying to influence me to purchase it, he kept highlighting realism. And if you look at the way Drake acts in a fire fight, it does try and make that point. He grunts and screams and says he's scared and so on, all in a "realistic" way. Compare Uncharted to Resistance, and it's very clear which is "realistic" and which is "fantasy".

It just seemed odd to me he would be a grunting scaredy cat and say stuff like "man, this jump looks hard"... and then go ahead and do what is nearly impossible anyway without too much fuss. That breaks realism for me, and that's a bad thing when it's trying to be "realistic". On the one hand he's saying he's afraid to do/try something, the next thing he is scaling a wall over a cliff 200m in the air. Which one is the real Drake?

Another problem I had with the game was the animation. It just felt like three different graphic engines. One was the cut scene stuff, designed to be very realistic of course. Then there was the platforming/walking around engine. Finally, there was the take cover/fire fight engine.

I'm use to seeing differences between cut scenes and real time stuff. I'm an old gamer, and they use to be really, really different. But the way Drake has filler animations between walking around and shooting is quite jarring. You could really tell when the engine shifted, and once again that really made me not like things. One could say that's not a game breaking issue in and of itself, but when you are getting generally frustrated and disappointed with a game, consider it a straw on a camel's back.

Being afraid to do/try something and then doing it anyway sounds pretty realistic to me. I'm pushing 40 years old, and there's been more times than I can count that I was afraid to do something and yet found the courage to do it anyway. Both are the real Drake, both are in all of us.

I admit though that I don't have this game. I liked the demo and plan to get it before the next one comes out. I wish I had bought it early, but now LOTR: Conquest comes next so it'll have to wait a little longer.

I think that perhaps it was your expectations that ruined the game for you, that you were expecting the game to be completely realistic, perhaps something like Heavy Rain could turn out to be and then were disappointed when you found that they had scrapped total realism in favour of good gameplay while still keeping the fun realistic things like wincing away from bullet shots.

Concerning your comment about Drake being afraid to do something, I think that firstly he shows fear to portray him as an everyman, that he gets afraid just like everyone else and isn't just this unrealistic action hero. And then scaling 200m cliffs is just to make an epic and fun moment in the game. His background commenting on the difficulty of his actions is simply to fill the silence and to make him more ordinary and likable. The game would be worse off for not having these moments and would be probably be much more boring.

I'd like to ask what you think the solution would be to this... problem that you have with the game. You seem to have trouble with the difference continuity between Drake's actions during cut-scenes and his actions in game. But that is true of any game ever made, the cut-scenes always show more complex emotion and action than the gameplay. I don't think it is a fault of the game, but your own unrealistic expectations.

As for the jarring transtion animations, I do feel that it takes a while to get used to as no other game have really done this (in my experiences) but I think as a first attempt at doing such complex transition animations, the did pretty well. Yes it is a bit jarring and I disliked it at first as I felt it slowed the gameplay a bit but once I got used to it I didn't really notice anymore.

You say you were frustrated and disappointed with the game, can I ask why? Was it the difficulty or just the unrealistic nature of the game?

Hmmmm... that is a good question. I'm more use to running out and shooting things rather than the very, very heavy use of cover Uncharted does. It's fine to be using cover I guess, but it just felt like it made things claustrophobic (which cover by it's very nature does) and made it so easy to get blind sided. I know it's realistic, but it was so frustrating working through 5 guys only to get shot in the back by the 6th guy... every... single... time...

Sure, it's variable enemy positions, you have to be careful, all that stuff, but it just did not feel like a good game experience to me, rather simple a punishing one full of cheap death.

And like I commented earlier, a gamer friend influencing me to purchase it kept highlighting the realism of it. It felt to me like they were pushing so, so hard to make fire fights realistic, to the point of being annoying, and then having him jump around in such an unrealistic way just did not sit well.

I was also frustrated just with some of the nature of the jumping sections. Some of the "answers" were really obscure, especially if you were thinking like a normal person. I remember a few wall climbs were Drake was doing the near impossible to keep going, when it would have made more sense to have taken what looked like a shorter route. Why would he climb a 20m tower to get into it, using vague and hard to see hand holds, when there is a window on the ground floor?

Sure, it makes interesting platforming. And I don't mind jumping around in a game. Ico and Shadow of the Colussus are in my mind truly great examples of jumping puzzle games. Assassin's Creed and Mirror's Edge are also good examples, though the final one tends to be a bit more punishing in terms of jumps.

But Uncharted... well, it just felt a whole lot less of that mark, basically because it kept making so little sense to me.

Well, I've gone back to playing this old game once again. Seeing as it's been 2 months I thought I might post a new post. The reason why I went back to replaying it was for 2 reasons. One was to see if I was wrong, that so many people being positive about the game meant that I missed something in my first experience. The second was to see how the trophy update worked, especially as it's an old game designed long before trophies were considered for the PS3 and was never meant to be released on the 360 so it was not just copying a 360 achievement list.

Let's see now...

Firstly, was I wrong? I've now gone and played through the entire game. I've finished it on normal and have gone back to play it through on hard and see what else I can unlock. I think I have 520 points so far of unlock stuff. So now that I've seen the whole game on a harder level, I think I can have more rounded comments. Previously I was up to about the 40% mark, just before the customs house.

Let me talk about the plot first. I'll use spoilers for those who have not played or finished the game.

It was lame, to be honest. It was really stupid and annoying how you would do all these impossible riddle solving things, only to find that the bad guys by dumb luck are ALWAYS one step ahead of you. Let me highlight some points:
There was only ONE time off memory when you were ahead of the bad guys. When Eddie blows through the wall in the "Vault" and then after killing some henchmen you work with him to blow away the first wave of zombies... errr... I mean "descendants". EVERY other time they were there ahead. Take the locked keys to the tower, near the 1/3rd mark just before you re-unite with Ellena. You have to smash over some colums and climb 20m up to get the keys to a locked door... and then there is MASSIVE encampment of bad guys behind that door. And not just a few. I'm talking trucks, crates and gun encampments warmed up. They have been there a few days. Why bother with getting this impossible to get key then?

Take another example. The final final final treasure area is under the altar in the church. That to me would have been the first place to look. Why didn't he start there, instead of doing that stupid climbing stuff with the giant keys et al.? And to top it all off, underneath is a MASSIVE underground Nazi base. Once again, I'm not talking a whole in the wall, we have full loading bays for U boats, a seperate generator room, large storage areas... it's not a 2 day building at all. Why didn't they look for that in the first place, and skip all the riddle crap?

Two more things about the plot. The whole "cursed statue turns you into a zombie thing" was really, really lame. Maybe they were not eternal soulless zombies, and the game calls them "descendants", implying a heridatry thing, but the fact that they were referenced as Spainards, from several centuries ago, the German film, the conversion of Roman, the "weapon potential" of the statue... they sure sounded like zombies to me. That was to me a massive hit in the credibility stakes. We have everything vaguely realistic and beleivable... and then they pull out the "supernatural out of this world zombie" card. Lame-O.

The last thing about the plot was the morality of it all. Drake is sometimes a wimp, saying "It's me, I want to stop, I don't want to die". Yet he never really does. Ellena keeps pushing him on... but that's more just abusive manipulation to me. She was a jerk, and Drake was being an idiot and listening to her. Also the gold they "happened" to find at the end... wouldn't they respect the dead pirates and Francis' Drake realisation and just leave it behind? Greed is just not a good thing, and it tarnish's Drake the player's image. Yeah, maybe they were going to pay off bad debts... but somehow I think they won't be stopping with that. That just reeks of corruption and greed. Finally on this point, Ellena taking back the ring Drake player left with dead Drake... I'd be offended that she stole the ring back. Yeah, maybe she was helping him undo a mistake... but it smells more like greed and abuse to me once again.

Okay then, enough about the plot. Let me get back to the animation. I think I worked out why it was so jarring to me the first time through. It's because they used different mo-cap people for the movie cutscenes compared to the fighting and jumping stuff. Movie mo-cap Drake slouches a bit, cringes more, and is genuinely and consistently a scardy-cat. Action mo-cap Drake stands stiff and errect, only flinches when he needs to, to "try" and remind people it's the same thing, but basically consistently does the impossible. They should try and get more consistency with the mo-capping. It's really obvious that they are two different people, and that really breaks the realism they are trying to achieve. I was able to ignore the inconsistency a bit by putting it on "fast" speed, one of the unlocks early on. But that just makes the action even more unbelievable so you are even more distanced of the movies from the action. That's a step backwards to cover up a big design fault in my book.

Gripe gripe grip though. Let me mention some good bits. Once you get use to the controls, it's kind of fun shooting through swarms of bad guys. I just wish they didn't have such huge inconsistencies in character and plot between action and movie. I really enjoyed exploring for treasures and unlocking new things. It's a lot of fun in that respect. The controls are not perfect though. You still sometimes go for cover around the wrong way for a column and then quickly get shot to death. Ideal and perfect control scheme it is not.

I mentioned wanting to explore the trophies of this old game as well. It's interesting how it's 1000 points to unlock everything, which just so happens to be the normal "achievement" score for the Xbox 360. I suspect at some point they might have been considering dual launching the game, before Sony completely and utterly bought it up.

One more thing about the trophies. They are actually achievable. Without multiplayer support, you don't need to do 50 billion online matches or get 55,000 online head shots, or other such stupid numbers. Sure, it's not a cake walk, things like steel fist expert are really challenging to do. But they do expand gameplay and make you experiment with different weapons and play styles, which is what trophies SHOULD be doing in my book. It's probably the easiest platinum to get, period. But in my opinion, it's about the right level for a platinum. Many current games, especially ones with multiplayer, are just stupid hard right now and have requirements that are just over-prolonging a game past it's shelf life. It's one thing to extend the shelf life of a game with trophies to challenge the player and get them coming back. It's another thing to stretch it too far, and make it a plain chore to try and achieve something. That's just not good.

One more grip about the game overall. The person who did the sound design needs to be shot. Whenever a grenade, either tossed or from a grenade launcher, lands near you but does not kill you, the game makes a high pitch ringing sound to try and simulate the "stunned" feeling a real grenade would do. That's a lovely idea, but...

I have extremely good hearing. I can hear under 10 decibels for most frequencies, which most people can't hear at all. I can hear a friends voice over half a cafeteria hall. I know my hearing is not normal by any means, but...

The ringing sound the game makes is absolute agony to my ears. It physically hurts to hear that sound, and as the difficulty level goes up, it occurs more and more. I've had to stop playing the game not because it's too hard but because the grenade sound is physically damaging my hearing. When I do play, I have to turn the sound WAY down to try and compensate for those high pitched squeals. If they ever release a sequel and it does the same squeal, I'm returning it right away. It's that bad, and it NEEDS to be fixed. My hearing is that good, and I don't want it destroyed by a game that I don't find completely rivotting.

So yeah, it's fun, the combat mechanics (apart from the grenade sounds) are good, but best game ever? Far from it.

EVERY other time they were there ahead. Take the locked keys to the tower, near the 1/3rd mark just before you re-unite with Ellena.

OK honestly I think this is completely unfair. This is an island that very little is known about. They didn't know there was an underground base so how could they know to look for one. The easiest explanation for the enemies being ahead of Drake is that there were alternate routes to get to those areas (not so far-fetched). In all honesty there have been far bigger holes in game plots that are considered good and you seem to be taking a dislike to the plot for the sake of it. I think you decided you didn't like it from early in the game and so any fault in gameplay and plot stuck out like a sore thumb. And that's OK IMO, I did the same thing which Ninja Gaiden Sigma... though it had far worse problems than Uncharted IMO. At least I recognise it...

Lame-O.

Again unfair. Firstly it is a game. Secondly it is an adventure movie style game. Have you played the MGS series? Do you have a problem with the bosses in MGS3? It makes absolutely no sense and yet the plot is still excellent, memorable and the game is my favourite of all time. I knew about the twist before playing it unfortunately so maybe I didn't mind because I knew it was coming. But again it is an adventure game which IMO is not meant to be taken seriously. It's just meant to show you a good time.

While Drake is a lovable rogue, he is still a rogue. He obviously has a bad side, wealth was the reason he was searching for the gold in the first place. Drake being his ancestor was just the tip-off and I guess he did want to find out what happened to him but if the prospect of gold/treasure hadn't been there I doubt he would have bothered. I think it makes Drake a more well rounded character and also more believable which you seem to be complaining that there is a lack of. By all accounts Uncharted 2 will be exploring that side of Drake much more deeply.

But that just makes the action even more unbelievable so you are even more distanced of the movies from the action. That's a step backwards to cover up a big design fault in my book.

I honestly don't think they used two different mo-cap characters, but even if they did, it is impossible to get the quality of animation as high in gameplay as it is in the cinemas. It was take an unbelievable amount of time and cost a ridiculous amount of money. You're being pretty harsh IMO, I still think Uncharted has some of the best animations and graphics in gaming. Unrealistic expectations is the culprit here. Also Drake does amazing things in cut-scenes as well as gameplay. Maybe not as many but I'd think it a good thing that you get to experience those amazing things in actual gameplay. I get the distinct feeling that you'd almost prefer to watch the entire game as a cut-scene with perfect mo-cap than play the game.

Fair enough about landing on the wrong side of stuff. Happened to me a good few times too but no game is perfect and I learned to deal with it.

I doubt it, ND has always been a Sony company, ever since the PS1. 1000 is just the done thing and it's a nice number. I think that is some very insubstantial evidence to back up a claim about a multi-platform release.

One more thing about the trophies. They are actually achievable. Without multiplayer support, you don't need to do 50 billion online matches or get 55,000 online head shots, or other such stupid numbers. Agree . It's the only platinum trophy I have for a reason.

One more grip about the game overall. The person who did the sound design needs to be shot. First person I've heard of to complain about that. Fair enough I guess, but I don't think any sound designer caters for people with extremely good hearing. God you must hate going to clubs and the cinema!

So yeah, it's fun, the combat mechanics (apart from the grenade sounds) are good, but best game ever? Far from it.

No not the best game ever. But still an excellent game.

They probably knew Sony had plans to rip-off achievements in the future and just did their medal system based on what was standard at the time.

Or they just liked the idea of achievements and decided to put them in.

A few quick points. Maybe I did come at the game from a negative or over-hyped perspective. Even if this was the case though, that does not make a game in and of itself MUST be good or bad. Pre-conceptions can change judgement, yes, but I beleive that the critiques I have given have been valid ones.

There are several games of similar genres (Assassin's Creed, Mirror's Edge for jumping around; Heavenly Sword for cinematics; Valkyria Chronicles for the use of cover) that I have enjoyed, but Uncharted I have not in these reguards.

Two points I will go over once more. Immersion I beleive is important for many games. The ability to identify with the main character is an important one. The more a player can believe and feel bonded with the character they play, often the better the game. If the main character starts to do things which distance themselves from the player, then it can create a jar with the immersion that a player has for the game. Take Fallout 3 and their use of Karma, for example. The player character is an annonymous blank slate. But the way the game is built, you can be a person of moral uprightness or down right evil. You can help people out in times of need... or kill and rob to (almost) your hearts content.

Let's take a character though that is less blank. Alltair from Assassin's Creed was a fixed person. He was an assassin, a killer for hire. But how "good" or "bad" you were in an absolute sense was grey. You could go around killing everyone in sight, but would need to deal with a lot of guards. Or you could go out of your way to avoid harming innocents, simply carrying out the mission and avoiding killing people unless necessary in self defence or to fulfill the contract. The game was supportive enough that how "evil" Alltair was was up to you, the player, and that helps with immersion and identification.

But then we come to Uncharted. We have a main character that the developers have repeatedly stated they want the player to immerse with and identify, in their words, "an eveyman's hero", one that is believable without being a super powered over the top gun-ho person. But then we have all those jarring points I outlined before, like the difference in mo-capping, the near impossible athletics and the supernatural card which I won't go into detail. All of those things break the illusion of immersion for me, and that makes the game a whole lot harder to digest. Sure, it's fun to shoot people en-mass and all that, but all that other stuff actually detracts from the main game. Re-playing it through now I've got the game almost always on fast speed and skip every film I can, and the game gets better because of that. That's a really bad point in my opinion.

One more thing about hearing. I haven't been to a nightclub in... well, decades. I sometimes go to pubs, and sometimes they do hurt my hearing when things are too loud. Most films are alright, but sometimes they do get to painful levels sometimes.

The grenade sound isn't so bad in and of itself, it's just the constant repetition of such a high pitch so loudly that causes pain and damage. I really do hope they never do that again.

I think it all comes down to taste, really.
I thought Drake was a very decent game. It felt very well polished in a sea of mediocre titles.

At the time it came out I think it felt like the only PS3 title that had been properly finished rather than rushed out to meet the PS3 launch title.
