Germ warfare Minigame Concept

Archive: 3 posts

play the part as a single celled organism protecting the helpless white blood cell from the evil nose blocking cold viruses, or something along those lines. sort of like a survival type minigame with frequent objectives to make it have more depth and make for a more interesting level, but now to think of a super unique selling point that makes this a totally different type of gaming experience. any ideas gadders? any idea would be appreciated no matter how obscure.2012-03-15 15:10:00

White bloodcells are not exactly helpless. They are the Chuck Norrisses of the human body, roundhousekicking anything they see as a threat.

Here is some more info on white blood cells that may inspire you for gameplay elements:

Just some random ideas:
Fun but also educational. One gets to learn basic stuff about the human immune system.
Different types on white cells for different types of threats. Perhaps more of a (tower) defense game or elements of Real Time Strategy where one produces cells based on the threat.
Not white cells, but other human cells are under threat from viruses, fungii, bacteria, etcetera. Poor fat red blood cells, body cells, organs...
One becomes immune to certain threats because white cells build up a recognition system after an assault. Perhaps use veterancy elements on white cells that survive? Have them level up... Pull them back from the front lines to the factories to feed back into the blueprint...
Zoomed in focus on the microscopic battlefield is one thing, but if, as a player, one would be in charge of the entire body's immune system, a zoomed out 'galaxy map' of the human body that displays where the battles are going on - and where you can quickly switch and navigate - is perhaps even cooler.
Perhaps the body's bonemarrow should be your central factory for the cells. Give commands for new units, then have them deployed to the battlefield of choice when construction is complete.

Or go all the way with digestive, vascular, hormonal systems, etcetera and call the game "SimBody".
