Platform the Ruins!

Archive: 5 posts

Yeah, this is just one of my more simple pieces. I enjoyed making it. It's a fun little platforming adventure filled with switches, flying, and good 'ol platforming. I've even placed tiny geysers all over to launch you. Any feedback is appreciated, and I'll return the favor! Have fun! Sorry, I haven't taken any pics yet.

I thought This was a very good level, good platforming and hazard placement and its one of the few levels iv'e seen where the spikes fit in with the level aesthetic and don't seem out of place. I did find that a couple of the obstacles are very easy to skip like this (http://i2.lbp.me/img/ft/972d73a18ae461fcce854f25828aaeb44b9c4de0.jpg) early one where you have to get through the door before the time runs out, if you just stand on the button you can switch layers and skip it entirely. And this (http://if.lbp.me/img/ft/d3ff11af8374342fbdf5061880516c85854e4978.jpg) later one I didn't even bother hitting the button, the fire hazard wasn't big enough to kill me I was able to bounce off the fire to safety.
I did also have some minor problems with the camera but I still think it's worth bringing up: The camera angle here (http://i5.lbp.me/img/ft/3153b1caeb96b83423f6e7e48d3e19d9f26e8035.jpg) made it difficult to switch layers and hit the button, I couldn't tell if I was properly aligned with it and would fall off. And because of the camera angle here (http://i8.lbp.me/img/ft/208ea8e0f605447785b1b9e5c5a9e69f1d8206be.jpg) I didn't even know there was a button to reset the bridge here my first time playing it.

But those are just some minor problems certainly not any deal breakers, this is a good level deserving of more plays and I'l probably be playing it again soon

If you could leave F4F on this level and thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=68547-Enter-The-Xevalon) I would be very grateful

Nice level. The water geysers and spring boards made the level. I would have liked to see more complex hazards involving those.

Xiek's review said most of it. You must have added a hint about the bridge restet.

My only problem is a personal preference. 9 times out of 10 we play as 3-4 players. Anything that springs one player into outerspace, a bridge that falls apart when the first sac steps on it, is frustrating. Two of us died on your bridge. None of us died on the super launch, because the camera stayed down, which was good, but if there was someting up there to see, we missed it. And let me say the bridge obsticale was cool, but we all wanted to have a go at it.

I'll say it again, those clever spring boards and water geysers were the best. They were even better once we found pounding the jump button launched you up the geyser!

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. However, there wasn't anything to see with the spring boards that launched you up high. It was just plain space.
