I entered the thread JUST because YOU opened it, my son I prefer the Unreal Engine. Even if CryEngine looks more realistic, UE has a vibe that I like more. Games for me is not sticking to reality the most possible, but having visions, windows on other worlds, and UE fits better imho. | 2012-03-10 07:31:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |

UE is also more accessible to the masses. it is easy to get your hands on a copy of the raw engine, which encourages up and coming designers | 2012-03-11 10:52:00 Author: poorjack Posts: 1806 |

hmm to make character models for these game engines you need something like 3D max right? *mew Depending what file formats it supports you could just use Blender or whatever. Blender can export models in a number of file formats. You can download the CryENGINE 3 SDK here and mess around with it if you want: http://freesdk.crydev.net/ | 2012-03-11 18:41:00 Author: Ayneh Posts: 2454 |

UDK? or CryENGINE 3? *mew I just downloaded Blender.... I have absolutely no idea how to use it. xD | 2012-03-11 21:06:00 Author: Lord-Dreamerz Posts: 4261 |
is Blender just as good as 3D max? I couldn't tell you since I only have a passing interest in these things and haven't used 3DS Max. From what I know 3DS Max has a superior interface and conforms to industry standards whereas Blender doesn't. I just downloaded Blender.... I have absolutely no idea how to use it. xD It can be pretty confusing.
