in my survival level id like sensors to laugh at each player individually when they die, but am a logic noob k with some ideas from suggestions heres what i ended up with, single or multi player detection that boo's and activates my losers lounge sign at the death spawn of one to three players, and cheers and winner sign for single player or last man standing http://i5.lbp.me/img/fl/975d1bcfbc4d6dae39a7dc68cf1761ae64bca5f2.jpg | 2012-03-07 15:35:00 Author: Unknown User |
If the survival starts when a player triggers something (presses a button, pulls a switch, walks to a certain spot etc.) AND the player falls from the checkpoint back to the survival after dying you could do this. Plug the output of the what triggers the survival into an AND gate and then for the other have a player sensor at the checkpoints (use an OR if its multiple checkpoints on a versus level) go into the other part of the AND gate The have the output of the AND connect to your sound. If you got something different than what i said, maybe you should go into more detail on hor your survival works so we can figure out what you can do | 2012-03-07 20:50:00 Author: JKthree Posts: 1125 |
but am a logic noob Too funny. I HATE it when people don't use caps and punctuation. http://static.fjcdn.com/comments/That+_78626ba5af45d0bd9887f0baba51caf9.png Also, just don't make a survial level. | 2012-03-08 01:51:00 Author: Undarivik Posts: 442 |

You mispelled Survival after making a comment regarding someone elses typing ability. Secondly, what's wrong with making a survival level? Survival levels are lots of fun, so long as there's a worthwhile idea behind it. I get why Bomb or Shark survivals and other such ideas are disliked, but to outlaw Survivals outright is silly. I think JKs idea is perfectly fine, but I'd have done it slightly differently, myself. I'm going to assume that because it's a survival, players only ever spawn at the Scoreboard after being killed the first time. I'd just set it up so that you have a Microchip at the base of the Scoreboard. Inside, you should have 4 small setups. The first setup should be a Player Sensor wired into a Counter. The Counter should be set to zero, and should only count up to one. Then wire the Counter into your sound. Copy paste these 3 items, and place it just below the first set. Edit the Sensor, and tell it to require 2 players. Repeat this step again, each Sensor should require one more player than the one before it. This is easy enough to set up, and won't repeatedly replay it's sound effect just because one player ran through the sensor multiple times. | 2012-03-08 11:44:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |
i came up with something like that, but i want the sound at death of player, not spawn, and i used survival in the loose term because my bounce platformer gives only one life so u must survive as long as possible, i hope that's better than a bomb survival | 2012-03-08 13:56:00 Author: Unknown User |
Imo bomb survival is good, don't stop yourself if you got epic idea of use of this LBP made genre of a game Anyway one life is easy, you even dont need much of a sensors logic here, make sure that level entrice is out of vision in gameplay and trigger scoreboard on start (scoreboard is also valid checkpoint with trigger input) or destroy level entrice when survival game starts (then scoreboard as alone checkpoint on level should trigger it self). First methodwill work on any mode, if you use versus then you will need to destroy level entrance since vision does not matter in versus mode. | 2012-03-08 14:45:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
i did know that , not exact info i was looking 4, good info though reminded me to fix my first checkpoint now that iv'e modified the level to vs, also added a losers lounge with signage that converts to winner after the last player dies | 2012-03-08 16:45:00 Author: Unknown User |
