... help me out here. Me and my daughter just resently tried the demo of LPG2 and i fell in love. I'm thinking about getting the collectors edition since i found it for a reassonable prize. BUT, before i do spend my gamefund of the month on this game i would love it to hear from it's comunity why i should buy it... So, why do you think i should buy this game? | 2012-03-07 13:55:00 Author: Unknown User |
Not something we can really tell you... as we don't know your tastes in games... but if unlimited potential, 5 - 6 million levels, endless replayablility, another excuse to get a ps move (not needed but optional) and with a ever expanding DLC catalogue... has you interested, yes it's a great investment, most of us here have been constantly playing for years now... and can always find something new and original. | 2012-03-07 14:22:00 Author: ForgottenEnigma Posts: 1414 |

Of course not, but you gave me what i wanted, i'm intressed in why you like the game, and I think you gave me just that. From what you just said i'll take it as the community is still live and kickin? | 2012-03-07 14:50:00 Author: Unknown User |
You could say that, just take alook around here, we have all kinds of community stories. Creation contests are held almost every month across a variety of sites (for a chance to win rare DLC (usually open to all ages)), many members here have been hired by Sony studios to expand the franchise further, tutorial videos / guides, good levels are highlighted by fansites (and recently, now appear in the in game newsfeed) and theres usually always a couple thousand people playing at any one time... so yeah... the community is still going strong. edit: forgot to mention, playing online requires that the internet chat parental control option is turned on (for some reason... not sure why) so that may or may not affect the accounts on your ps3. Hopefully this small detail won't deter you from this great game. | 2012-03-07 15:13:00 Author: ForgottenEnigma Posts: 1414 |
The endless possibilites of what you could be doing will keep you loving this game for years to come. One minute you could be parasailin on a fantasy beach, the next minute playing remixes of some of your childhood games like Mario, Pac-man, Or playing mano a mano with your girl or another player in sports, checkers, chess, or head to head death combat, or solving a complex underwater puzzle ,or watching a movie someone made, or taking down a mighty dragon Unfortunatly you have to do some searching for the endless variety most of the time, due to an exploit that people abuse to death to get their levels notice on one of the common selections for searching for levels (Cool levels). But since you have visited fan-sites like LBPC, you are stepping in the right direction. Last week i showed a relative of mine a video i have made on this game, (i talked with him many times on the subject but never showed him any footage). And he was hooked after seeing it. When he did i realized how great the video is at showing the endless fun and possibilites of this game, so i thought i show it to you. enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eczqsCAvDYs | 2012-03-07 22:26:00 Author: JKthree Posts: 1125 |
Dont be fooled of the above video lol which is cool i must say. As Dav said depends mainly to your and/or daughters tastes and her age possibly. i.e. my 8 y.o. daughter played LBP2 for a quite some time, even created some random stuff, but suddenly turned to GTA and Uncharted 2. So no matter how many times ive put LBP on the tray and leave it sealed there, when i turn it on i see one of the afformentioned disks in. Sure the game is one of the best ever, mainly because of the creation element and i am too obsessed with it so whatever game i play, just before i shut the PS3 i put LBP in back as it is some kind of home for it, as they made for each other lol, but i reckon whatever you see on videos are not easily achievable (actually its quite hard to build) for the most of preteen kids probably at a point where maybe they will get frustrated unless they are so technical heads and are too obsessed with bulding stuff possibly. | 2012-03-08 08:11:00 Author: zupaton Posts: 167 |
It's kid friendly, it's charming, it's charismatic, it has endless possibilities. Any kind of level you want to play, you can play. Platformers, puzzlers, adventure, racers, point-and-click, everything is possible in LBP. And there's this great community and excellent people to interact with, if you look in the right places. | 2012-03-08 14:16:00 Author: SnipySev Posts: 2452 |
I think it would be great for your daughter to express herself with, i will deff be getting my little sister playing when she is old enough. It's a great way to vent out aswell, sometimes i lose myself for hours creating, when i turn my ps3 off whatever bothered me no longer matters. I don't see it as a game. Only downside is the community is terrible but hilarious. | 2012-03-13 12:28:00 Author: gigglecrab Posts: 232 |

As for creating, you may not be able to create anything hugely amazing at first, but it's fun to just mess around and with some practive you'll be able to make something half decent | 2012-03-18 19:46:00 Author: kirbyman62 Posts: 1893 |
I just want to say, you should get lbp2. lbp2 doesn't continue lbp1 and lbp1 isn't as popular anymore. Idiots (such as latin player 10) kept repeatedly copying and publishing levels that they thought were cool but now suck. the same is possibly going to happen to lbp2 if a lbp3 is made. but still, most people are creative when it comes to lbp2. | 2012-03-19 23:20:00 Author: Unknown User |
..... a video i have made on this game.... That vid was great! I cracked up when the queen disappeared into the cake and little splats started popping out. I mean... uh... spoiler alert. Seems to me there was at least one level* missing from your montage but oh well. As for whether the op ought to get the game, I'd say go for it. Even if you're not overly creative, the story levels in the game are really good and there are literally millions of user created levels which are a little more hit and miss: they range from pure crap to holy crap (as in "Holy crap!! How did they squeeze that much awesome into one level?!" * That was a joke, btw. | 2012-03-20 10:15:00 Author: Sehven Posts: 2188 |
